On September 24, 2024, AlaskanCatch Seasfoods Inc came to the attention of Better Business Bureau. At that time BBB received a scam tracker report alleging the business is not licensed.
According to Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, AlaskanCatch Seafoods, Inc’s business license expired as of December 31, 2019. To verify the company’s current status, please contact the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development at (907) 269-8160 or https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/web/cbpl/BusinessLicensing.aspx.
According to Anchorage Health Department’s Food Safety and Sanitation Program, all facilities providing food to the public in the Municipality of Anchorage must have a food permit.
On September 24, 2024, BBB sent an email inquiring about the businesses license and food permit. On October 1, 2024, BBB spoke with Mr. Reginald Cobb who informed BBB that he was currently working on renewing his licensing and acquiring the necessary permits. In a follow-up email on October 7, 2024, BBB requested a date for when AlaskanCatch Seafoods Inc. will have their business license renewed and acquired a food permit. To date, AlaskanCatch Seafoods Inc. has not responded.
Based on the information detailed above, BBB cannot confirm the legitimacy of AlaskanCatch Seafoods Inc.

On September 24, 2024, Better Business Bureau contacted AlaskanCatch Seafoods Inc regarding an advertising claim found on their website, https://alaskancatch.com/. Specifically, BBB asked AlaskanCatch Seafoods Inc to substantiate or discontinue the following claim:
“When seeing this logo on any of our AlaskanCatch Seafood product lines 3cents per product sold will go to any of the top clean up the ocean organizations!”
BBB’s first basic principle of the code of advertising is that “the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.”
On October 1, 2024, BBB spoke with Mr. Reginal Cobb who informed BBB that the business was not currently making those donations but would be looking into organizations to donate to in the future. On October 7, 2024, BBB sent a follow-up email requesting updated information on which organization they are donating to or modification of the claim. To date, AlaskanCatch Seafoods Inc has not responded.
