Department of Justice v Tien Tan Vo

The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

On August 24, 2023, Tien Tan Vo entered into a Plea Agreement with the Department of Justice. The Plea Agreement settles allegations that Tien Tan Vo used foreign unapproved and misbranded cosmetic drugs, and being an accessory after the fact to an accomplice. Vo admitted that non of the injectable botulinum toxin or lip fillers used by his clinics between November 2016 and October 2020 was approved for use in the United States. Under terms of the Plea Agreement, he agreed to forfeit $100,767 in gross earnings, pay a fine of $201,534 and pay restitution to victims of his offense. 

Sentencing is set for November 16, 2023.

Government Actions 2

Medical Board of California v Tien Tan Vo

The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

On November 17, 2022, Tien Tan Vo entered into a Stipulated Settlement and Disciplinary Order with the California Medical Board. The Order settles allegations that Tien Tan Vo engaged in gross negligence, failed to maintain adequate and accurate records, and engaged in general unprofessional conduct. Under terms of the Order, Tien Tan Vo agreed to take 40 hours of Continued Medical Education Courses, and pay investigation and enforcement costs in the amount of $15,3400. 

On February 2, 2023, The Stipulated Settlement and Disciplinary Order was adopted as the Decision and Order of the Medical Board of California and made effective on March 6, 2023.
