Dr. Matiasevich, Jr. DDS, performed a root canal on my on Tooth# 32, which is combined with my bridge from Tooth# 30 > Tooth# 32. In the process of performing the root canal the crown that is part of the bridge was broken when the Dental Rubber Dam, or whatever the name is for the contraption that was used, was removed. It took three efforts to remove the contraption from my Tooth# 32. When I advised Dr. Matiasevich, Jr. DDS about this, including a picture of the broken crown, I received no response. Also, regarding cost - I had prepaid $1,522 for my portion of the root canal and was advised the insurance would cover approximately $1,063. My dental insurance company only paid $358.50 even though I had no other dental work performed for the rest of the year. Result was that I had to pay an additional $699.50 bringing the total cost of my root canal to $2,221.50.Review from Gretchen S

Called this dentist in pain a week ago, searching for a dentist that would take my Medicare or Medi-Cal. Stopped my search because I was told, and I clarified three times, that they take the Medicare. Nothing else was said to me regarding payment. I filled out their paperwork online, in joy at the thought of finally getting my painful TMJ resolved that was caused by another dentist. I confirmed my appointment over text message on a Sunday. I showed up early for my appointment, then to be told that they only take the Medicare for the extremely necessary portion of treatment, not the exam, or any other part of my visit. Are they just that negligent that they cannot be clear with new patients? Or were they hoping I would be so desperate that I would agree to pay money for them to do my dental care? Either way this is one of the reasons people do not trust dentists.
