I had purchased a vehicle from this dealership. I was aware that the dealership was a sold as is type of dealership however, when I purchased the vehicle, I asked the sales representative If there is any issues with this car and that I wanted to know, just Because I wanted a reliable vehicle ,as well as my father did on the phone. The sales are representative said no that the car was in perfect condition to drive. A week later, I had taken the car for a vehicle inspection and they gave me a list of issues that is wrong with the vehicle Including the fact that the vehicle had no airbags and when I contacted the dealership back, they suggested me to go to their mechanic and their mechanic said that the struts were an issue and that everything else with the vehicle was in perfect condition I did verbalize that my vehicle had a leak and that I wanted help fixing the vehicle because I was not informed that all these issues were a part of the vehicle and the dealership and mechanic told me that if I were to buy the parts, they will fix it for me for a cheaper price. Later that week after getting the vehicle inspected(A week after purchasing the vehicle) my vehicle had broken down in the middle of the road While me and my daughters were in it and I had to get it towed. I also had to miss work due to this inconvenience. I had to come up with the money to fix my vehicle so from that day on, I had not been driving the vehicle again that was a week after purchasing the vehicle on 2 July I had finally taken it back to the mechanic to get fixed and They did not end up fixing the issue that they thought was wrong so on 3 July, I had taken it to a different mechanic and they read that my transmission had issues and my vehicle These issues have been there for a while. When I contacted the dealership back, the owner told me that the only thing he can do for me is fix it for free however I still have to purchase the parts to fix it. I already spent over $600 trying to fix his vehicle

***** spoke with me yesterday and I informed her that we sell it as is. vehicle pass emission already. ***** always go to the wrong mechanics. 1st mechanic told he that the car has no AIRBAGS. I send the vehicle to a shop and end up paying that shop for a false diagnose by whoever told her there was no airbags. Then she went to another mechanic who want's to charge $1300 to replace a rear shocks and $1200 to replace front shocks and $600 to replace the ball joints. While I told her I can do it to you for free if she provides the parts. She refuse to buy the parts. Again I sell all my vehicles as is. No dealer warranty. No one can force me to do any extra work after selling the vehicle. I should not do that and I can just ignore this whole thing. But I tried to be nice and help her with installing the shocks. She keeps calling and threating with court and all that and I am more than happy to go to court as long as am not wrong. Colorado Law is very clear. All cars sold as is no dealer warranty. She bought a warranty through a 3rd part company that will cover it for 3 months or 4500 miles and I was wondering if the vehicle has all those issue since she bough it why she did not contacted the warranty company?

I purchased a 2006 jeep Cherokee Laredo from Statewide automotive for $5,999. I had a down payment of $5000. I signed some paperwork that he did not give me a copy of. Before leaving he told me that another guy drove the car before and told him that something was wrong with it but he said no its just needs oil. On Feb 24th I asked ba to look at another car. I told him that the car was letting off hot air out of the heat/ac vents with the heater being off and other issues as well. March 20, 2024 oil change & they stated that there was no oil in the car again. On April 25 I went and talked to Ba to drop off $100 payment because I somehow owe ***** I asked him how when the car was $5,999 and I put ***** down he said oh because of taxes and still wont give me no paperwork. May 4th was the last day it ran. had 2 separate neighbors who work on cars look at it and said the engine seized up. They stated that the engine will not just seize up from a couple of months it had to be a problem for awhile. I called Ba on Monday and he got into a heated argument with me that I owe him money wheres his moneyI told him fix the car and Ill finish paying you. I told him about the neighbors staying it was the engine Then he said Im not fixing the car it is sold as is He said Ill make it even you keep the car you dont owe anything and Ill mail you the title. I was going to go get the title and take it as it is but this is wrong in my eyes. Im a Single mom of 4 kids aged 17-3 yrs of age. I dont have much help and rely on my vehicle. I work very hard for my money and to be cheated out of $5000 and a vehicle is a very depressing feeling like I failed feeling. So yes ! I believe this is Predatory sales practice!! Thank you for listening

I have purchased this vehicle from a customer who was trying to buy a vehicle with a third raw seat. The previous owner is a mechanic and he does all maintenance at his work. Vehicle was in good condition. I checked the vehicle in my shop and there was no indication of oil leak. Buyer has the vehicle since 22nd Feb 2024. ***** believes there is a 90 days return policy. Unfortunately Colorado law is very clear when it comes to as is. Everything was disclosed. Everything was signed. Used cars does not fall under Lemon law. I offered her to buy the engine and I will pay for the labor, Although I should not do that. She agree to this solution last week, then she filed a complaint. I can provide her a copy of the paperwork and show what she signed. I always have a copy for all my sales. My phone number is ************. Buyer can contact me for any documents she needs. Again am still fine helping her paying for the labor if she buys the engine.

I am rejecting this response because: Ba has not tried to resolve this matter. *** reached out him many times and when I finally got a hold of him he was very combative and argumentative towards me saying I still owe him money, wheres his money I told him to fix my car and I will finish paying him the balance. He stated hes not and the car is sold as is. He did state for me to buy an engine and he will pay for the labor. Upon calling around a new and used engine cost $1,200 to ***** which I dont have. I just put $5000 down on this car, all the money I have been saving up for a vehicle. Now I have to save more but I cant because my ride is taxis, busess, or Ubers. ** did try to call and text today saying that he tried to mail the title twice to me but it says return to sender. Which he does have a copy of my drivers license with the correct address. I last talked to Ba on May 7, 2024 I dont believe he was able to mail out twice and receive the returned mail twice before today. he also stated he couldnt find an engine for me, that we can try next week. I called scrap yards and they want to pay $320 to scrap the vehicle. I asked him if he can put me in another vehicle he said he cant. He told me he would call it even and give me the title and I dont owe him nothing.  I was going to go to statewide and pick up the title and take it as a loss but I cant I paid to much money just be robbed of it feels like. Im a 38 year old female native of ********. I have purchased many cars before and never faced an encounter like this. No matter the problem, especially if I owe money, the car lot would have the mechanic look at it and fix it. Ba hasnt even offered to look at the car so with him wanting me to purchase an engine so they can do the labor has me suggesting that he already knew the jeeps engine was bad. And when I told him that he got really angry. Yes he stated before I left the car lot on Feb 22, 2024 that I need to put oil in. Which Ive been I also got an oil change March 22, 2024 they Indicate that again no oil in the vehicle again. And if there was a leak it was not visible because 5 quarts of oil shouldve been all over my drive way. You cant even see where the leak is because theres no oil. Im not a mechanic but I think the oil is burning because when the vehicle was started and running extremely hot air would come out the vents with the heater and air turned off I would check the oil and to no surprise none. He stated he bought from a mechanic for $500 with that being said common sense tells me the jeep was junk needed to be fixed up and then sold. All I want is a reliable vehicle or my money back.

I am fine with mediation. But again I can only help with labor and legally I should not do that. Also I have contacted the party who sold the vehicle to me. He is a mechanic and he has all records of maintenance and all that. There was no issues with the vehicle.

I did not see the part regarding the paperwork. I called her several times regarding her documents. But she does not respond. I have a copy of what she signed. She can stop by and get a copy of what I have. Attached are the documents she signed. There are more documents like a sales tax receipt and bill of sale I could not upload.

    Complaint: 21712496

I am rejecting this response because: I Do not appreciate the harassing phone calls from Ba. He chose to mediate but when he calls he is very combative and argumentative and we can hardly talk. He still is not taking any blame telling me go ahead and call BBB. But I also went to the dealers investigator so there is an open complaint on him as well and as far as not giving any paperwork, bill of sale, or anything besides registration, emission voucher, and temp plate. I dont understand how Ba can assume its the engine and want me to come out of pocket to buy an engine while he pays for labor when he hasnt once again have a mechanic diagnose the vehicle and see whats the issue really is but yet was quick to mail the title to me when I owe him money. I havent even had a mechanic diagnose it because its not driveable. So unprofessional, rude, and mean. Hes claiming he gave me paperwork but still has not and wants me to come pick it up. Ok what car? Is he going to pay for an Uber for me to go get it and come home. why didnt he mail it to me when he mailed the title on May 15, 2024 upon telling him that I told him if I had the paperwork I would know the taxes you were charging. I told him your charging me over $500 for taxes he mocked me. I owed $1000 after putting $5000 down the car was $5,999 when I went in to drop $100 payment off he told me I owed $1450 still I asked him why he said taxes. I never got a bill of sale nor did he send one with the title. The title came by itself. But I still dont understand does he do the same with all his clients once his lemon car breaks down he sends the title. Or he sold a car were he knew the engine was bad and just wanted to get rid of it. I remember when I was 21 I wreck a car I just purchased off a real car lot and regardless after insurance pays their portion I still had to pay a few thousand dollars off they never just sent me the title and was like were done. Please help I dont need any more harassing calls from him unless its to tow the vehicle in and have a diagnostic done on it. In reality if I was too but a used engine Im paying over $8,000 for the Jeep Cherokee which is market price is about $4,000. After *************** does his investigation I will be looking into a civil suit as well. And if he wants to mediate I would like someone else present so they can see how unprofessional he is as a car dealership owner stealing from his clients. Thank you for listening. Have a good day

I was sold a car- and before I could even arrive home the check engine light turned on. ***** the sell claimed it was a good car- that emissions passed but I took it home and the next day I took to get a diagnostics test and it came back with issues with the catalytic converter. Took it to emissions it did not pass either. If you reset the battery then all sensors and codes reset and that is what they did to get the car to pass emissions. Theyre fraudulent sellers, I wanted to return the car they said I could not do that. They offered to pay a mechanic to look at it but wouldnt pay for the catalytic converter.

Buyer drove the vehicle and she was happy with it. ***** decided to buy this ****** specifically after driving few other ******'s. She was satisfy with it. She bought a used car. My main goal is to have the buyer test drive the vehicle and have them take their time to make sure they buy the right vehicle. Also I always make sure the vehicle pass emission before we sell it. All vehicles sell as is. Everything disclosed. I told her to take it to the mechanic and see what he say. I usually do not do that. If this is something can cost me a couple hundred dollars will be able to help her with it.

Hello BBB: To make a long story short, I purchased a used 2011 Buick Enclave from Statewide Automotive, ************* on Saturday, August 5, 2023 with a 3-month warranty. When I drove it home, the *** was smoking. On Monday, August 7, 2023 (2 days) the *** was slow starting, and when it did start, I drove it out my complex, and the *** stopped in the middle of the street and started smoking. I had to get an emergency tow and had it towed back to Statewide. Statewide towed it to their mechanic and I was told the engine is blown and Statewide refuses to return my deposit of $1,020. Since the engine in blown, it will not pass emissions, and I can't register it. Since it won't pass emissions, I believe it is the Seller's responsibility to return my deposit. The Owner has cursed me out, yelled at me, called me an old lady and wish I never came into is dealership. I have been without a car for almost a month. PLEASE HELP ME, please and thank you

My name is ***** owner of Statewide Automotive. **** came to my car lot on Thursday and Saturday. **** drove few cars and she decided to purchase the 2010 Buick enclave. **** stated that she loves the vehicle and it has no issues. when she took the vehicle there was no mechanical problem and for this reason she bought the vehicle. I bought the vehicle from Copart auto auction and had one accident rear ended and no mechanical issues. everything was disclosed. as is was signed. damage and recall was signed too. The vehicle broke down when she was driving it. I spoke with **** several times regarding helping her with half of the repair which am not suppose to pay nothing and she refuse. I asked her to bring me the car back the same way she took it and she refuse. She keeps asking about her full refund and she wants me to deal with replacing the engine that it is cost $2650 plus $1200 labor. Colorado law says all cars sell as is. I urge her to take me to court and will be more than happy to go to court. I run honest business and have good reviews good reputation. Again I am more than happy to help her paying half of the repair. Documents attached above.

The engine was replaced and the vehicle is drivable. I am working on fixing the A/C or replacing the vehicle.

    Customer response

    09/07/2023

Hello BBB:  After receiving notification for BBB, Statewide Auto agreed to fix the engine in the ***.  I have been without a vehicle for one month now, and I was notified the *** now has a new engine and ready for pickup.  When I went to pick up the *** on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 and getting ready to take it, I noticed it was blowing hot air from the A/C.  This is the same problem I had on the first day I test drove it and Statewide put some freon in it.  The A/C worked when I drove it home the first day, Saturday, August 5th, however, on Monday, August 7, 2023 (two days later) when I started the ***, I noticed it was blowing hot air again, and that was the day it stopped in the middle of the street and was smoking.  This is the day I had it towed back to Statewide. When I went to pick it up on September 6th and it was blowing hot air again, I was told it looks like the freon is leaking, and they would fix it and come back at a later date. My request is since I have been having problems from day one, I would like to get a copy of the detailed engine work report and receipt, a warranty on the new engine, and full diagnostic of the ***.  I would also like to take it to my mechanic for a full inspection with 3-7 days, and if they find any major problems, I would like to please get a refund.  I was showed some other vehicles, however, they are way out of my price range. Please let me know the next steps please and thank you.

Hello BBB and *******: *******, thank you very much for working with me and fixing the engine problem with the 2011 Buick Enclave I purchased on Saturday, August 5, 2023.  I truly appreciate it and hope we can work together for a resolution.  ******* test drove the *** for a few days and kept me posted on how it was running with phone calls, text and videos, and I was very pleased with the progress that was being made. When we went to pick up the *** on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, we noticed the A/C was blowing out hot air again. I was informed the freon could be leaking out, and if I could leave it for a few days, it would be repaired.  I was very much ok with this request and agreed, but, I must admit, it made me a little nervous because that is what happened when the *** stalled in the middle of the street with my children in the car after having it for only two days (blowing out hot air, then stalled).  When the *** is repaired and ready for pick up, I would like to please request the following in writing:

    1.  The replacement engine information please
    2.  A warranty on the replacement engine please
    3.  A full diagnostic of other work that needs to be done please
    4. Request to have my mechanic do a full diagnostic within 3-7 days please

If there are any MAJOR REPAIRS that need to be done, I would then like to have a refund of my deposit and taken off the contract.  Even though I only had the *** in my possession for only two days in August, I still have to pay the monthly payment starting September.  I also very much appreciate you showing me other vehicles to look at, however, Im on a very tight budget, and they are out of my price range.  Once again thank you for working with me, and I truly hope we can come to some resolution soon.  Im only trying very hard to get a reliable/dependable vehicle for me and my children. Thank you very much in advance for your help with this unfortunate matter.
