I had a visit on 6/21/22 where my Doctor disclosed to me that he THOUGHT it might be polyp around my ovaries, that he couldn't tell & wanted me to come in for a Hysteroscopy w/ possible D&C removal of the polyp if it was located. I was told they would call me before this procedure with my estimate for this procedure. They advised me twice over the phone that my cost for this procedure was $177. My $2000 deductible still also had not been met prior to this procedure. After this procedure on 7/22, I received my ******** cost for this procedure was an additional $1,526.49. With the office seeing that my deductible had not been met, my out of pocket would have been a lot more than $177. I contacted the office multiple times about this, & I was told that they did not run any wrong CPT codes prior to y procedure. I told the office that had it been run properly, my cost would have been higher & I would not have had the procedure knowing the cost was this high; as this procedure was not 100% necessary. Especially because the D&C was not conducted. The manager was not working with ****** eventually stopped hearing back from her. The manager *** did also advise there was no way the wrong CPT codes were run prior to the procedure because she handled these herself; typically a procedure coordinator would handle these. I called to ask for my Proof of ************ ****** told me they did not keep it in my file. I have left 4 different messages with this office for ***. I have even requested for my records ****** have yet to provide release. I understand typos can happen, but this is fraud. Had I been given the correct estimate, I would have cancelled my appointment. I am writing to dispute this charge of $1,526.49, or most of it for the wrong CPT code entry error during my proof of eligibility. A $2000 deductible would require a higher out of pocket than $177. The manager of this business did not try to help resolve this issue with me & has now sent this balance to collections.
