- Government Actions:Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:Minnesota Attorney General Settlement Agreement
On November 19, 2024, the business entered into an Assurance of Discontinuance with the Minnesota Attorney General. The Assurance settles allegations that the business breached their fiduciary duty to its clients by receiving payments from Home Security of America (HSA) in exchange for promoting the purchase of HSA home warranties to Edina Realty's clients. Under terms of the Assurance, the business agreed to pay $3.5 Million for refunds to certain Edina clients who purchased the HSA warranty; end contractual relationships with any third-parties who pay the business to promote their products and not to enter into any new relationships.
A claims administrator will contact eligible consumers about compensation.
The Assurance was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law. For more details go to the below link.
