According to information provided by consumers and by the company, an unknown party posing as a "recruiter" for American Crystal Sugar is communicating with job seekers online, offering remote positions and conducting "on-the-spot interviews" via chat. Would-be hires provide personal / financial info to complete "hiring paperwork" and are sent a $7,500 check to purchase a computer and office supplies, only to learn later the check is fraudulent, and they are no longer able to reach the "recruiter."
