On January 5, 2024, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11(b)(1)(5) and 326B.36 (2022). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to only transact business in the names they are licensed in, REI Services LLC dba Earlybird Electric, Heating and Air; to ensure that all individuals who work on behalf of the business hold a master or journeyworker electrician license or a registration as an unlicensed electrician; ensure that unlicensed electricians are properly supervised. The business also agreed to ensure that all required electrical permits are filed before work begins and to schedule all required inspections within 15 days, comply with all inspection reports and schedule re-inspections within 14 days. The business also agreed to notify DLI of any changes to the ownership of the business and updates to the business's designated responsible licensed individual. The business agreed to pay $5,000.00 of a stayed penalty from a June 2023 Consent Order with the balance stayed on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
