Government Actions
On February 13, 2024, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11 (b)(1)(5)(8)(9); 326B.84 (4)(5)(15) and 326B.87, subd. 2 (2022). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to fully comply with all statues, rules and Orders that govern residential building contactors, remodelers and residential roofers in Minnesota; have building permits for their projects before beginning construction work; provide reasonable supervision for their employees, subcontractors and sales staff and ensure that all work performed meets the State Building Code. The business also agreed to complete the full scope of work listed in their contracts; provide written notices of the work to property owners and their insurance companies before requesting final payment or release of insurance proceeds. The business further agreed to not seek or accept final payment from a Minnesota property owner before all permitted work is complete and passed inspection, with any corrections completed. The business agreed to pay $2,500.00 of the penalty from a 2022 Consent Order and with a remaining $1,500.00 stayed along with a $6,000.00 penalty for the 2024 Consent Order (also stayed) on the condition that the business fully complies with the terms of the Consent Order and has no future violations of any law, rule or Order under DLI Authority.
