- Advertising Review:
In June 2022, Better Business Bureau questioned Tri County Fence and Deck's Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/tricountyfence, which stated, “100% GUARANTEE”.
Regarding the term, “guarantee”, Better Business Bureau’s Code of Advertising standards states, “(1) Advertisers should only use ‘satisfaction guarantee,’ ‘money back guarantee,’ ‘free trial offer,’ or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer’s request. (2) When ‘satisfaction guarantee’ or similar representations are used in advertising, any material limitations or conditions that apply to the guarantee must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed.”
BBB requested the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue the claim made on its Facebook page. The company did not respond to BBB’s request.
