          As part of an industry-wide review of CBD businesses in our service area, BBB requested that American Shaman Brunswick modify its website and social media advertising to be in compliance with the BBB Code of Advertising.

          On September 23, 2022 BBB contacted the business regarding claimed health benefits of CBD products on its website and Facebook page. 

          BBB Code of Advertising addresses Claimed Results, where it states, "Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data."

          BBB requested that the business review their advertising and provide substantiation based on reliable, recent, competent testing for each of the health claims made and to discontinue any advertising that is in violation of FDA and FTC mandates for this industry.

          On September 26, 2022 the business acknowledged our findings, but stated the corporate headquarters based out of Kansas City, MO  is responsible for all website advertisements. The business expressed they do have control of their own Facebook page. The business currently is unable to remove the Facebook advertisement(s) until further notice.
