On 08/14/2024 I picked up my sons car from Auto connection. They replaced the motor and stated there is a 30 day guarantee for the work and motor. This was needed due to only misfire codes reading. We had to return the car same day as it got stuck as soon as gears were shifted. The car would not power off bit all gear lights were on and stuck in drive. They did fix this issue. We got the car back on 08/15 or 08/16 and then on 08/20 check engine light codes came on again now for Evan system. This has to do with the motor. They are refusing to fix it as the whole motor has a guarantee of 30 days. Caprock credit is who we went through and this is the shop they use. It is not fair to have to pay this much money for work that keeps messing up and they are refusing to fix it but still want the money paid.

This complaint is actually not for AUTO CONNECTION, as you can see from her invoice it does not come from Auto Connection.  However, I do have full knowledge of the situation and will respond.  The vehicle was brought in for an engine misfire that was due to low compression in the engine cylinder requiring replacement of the engine.  The repair was done and guaranteed.  The issue she had with the shift knob failure had NOTHING to do with the engine replacement but rather a failure of the electronic shift knob. Because the customer was unhappy and they tried hard to please her and replaced the knob for the customer at NO CHARGE even though it was not the mechanics responsibility to do so!!!  Later she brought the car back with the check engine light on and had an emotional meltdown and tantrum at the shop.  The check engine light was on do to a fault in the emission system. AGAIN THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE REPAIR!!!!!  And this time do to her attitude we refused to do another free repair for her.  Thank you, ******* ******

I am rejecting this response because: the vehicle is still not fixed. There is still check engine lights on that have to do with the motor. Something is not hooked up, the air condition makes a weird noise now it never did before, car is much louder sounding than before as well

The repair performed was for the engine assembly ONLY!  The old engine had low compression and was replaced.  ALL accessories including the A/C system are separate and not included in the repair. The check engine light is EMISSIONS related and also not part of the repair done and so not covered by this repair.  Each one of those systems has to be diagnosed and repaired separately, EVERY repair shop including the manufacturers' dealership service department would diagnose, service and bill each system as a separate repair.  Normally the shop would work with the customer to get these repairs handled but due the conduct of the customer they respectfully refuse to do further work for her.

First of all, it is a 2006 Chevy HR not a 2016. It is almost 20 years old. He purchased the vehicle as is we have signed documentation to that effect. He had it for over a month and called and said that he could not get it to start we paid to have it towed to our office and got it running but he had driven it overheating so long that it blew the head gasket. It is 100% his responsibility. We did quote him $1500 to repair the engine. Unlike any other dealer in this city that I know of we also offered to cover half of that repair. So he would only have to pay $750 for a $1500 repair. Obviously, this is not acceptable to him and he did not tell the whole story. His account is now past due and in repossession status. He is responsible for what has happened.

The customer has misstated the facts.  First, all vehicles are sold AS-IS, however we have offered to look at repairing the vehicle but the customer refuses to bring the car to our shop for repair.  The customer also has failed to pay her payments.  This customer is just looking to drive the vehicle for free.  We continue to honor our offer to look at the issue she is having with the vehicle at anytime.  I have attached the customer signed buyer guide.  Thank you.

We have now repo'd the car for nonpayment because the customer refused to bring the car in for repair and refused to pay.  We have since discovered the issue with the vehicle is that the customer ran the battery down and then hooked booster cables or crossed wires and shorted out the electrical system.  We will have to fix that before we can assess the vehicle further. The customer caused the damage but we will get it repaired.
