Our move occurred on November 17, 2024 (this was two days after the date we contracted for). We were to!d to have our payments made out to AMB Moving. The driver compensated us on that date for the delayed move, a broken glass patio table top, a bookcase and one standing lamp.Additionally we found the following items damaged: two antique standing lamps, another standing lamp tucked in the back of the garage, the television, a custom ceramic bowl and a plastic storage tub.I contacted America First Moving -- I mean AMB Moving; they said to file a claim through CSI. *** said the don't work on behalf of ***. I contacted AMB again and they said that *** MOVING actually did our move and that we should use that name on our claim. Because our bill of lading said AMB Moving, *** rejected our attempted claim again.A week ago AMB said that they would get us the correct paperwork, "momentarily."When I contacted AMB again this morning, I got a repeat of the instructions to contact CSI!How can I get compensation for our damaged items when this moving company keeps playing the shell game with us?

    Dear BBB,

Our site provides free reviews for different companies online. We acknowledge ******* had a bad experience with a moving company on our site and we apologize for any inconvenience. We only provide redirects and accept no responsibility of the complaint for that particular company. Similarity, if the user found this company via ****** or **** and had a poor experience, they would not go after ****** or Yelp - the actual company would be the soul party responsible for any issues. The moving company and its owners are responsibly for refunding and responding to the issues related to ********* move.

    Our disclosure states:

This site is a free online resource that strives to offer helpful content and comparison features to its visitors. Please be advised that the operator of this site accepts advertising compensation from companies that appear on the site, and such compensation impacts the location and order in which the companies (and/or their products) appear.

    Thanks, *****

I am rejecting this response because:

It is just another "not MY responsibility" answer!  When I order something from Amazon and they are not the seller, they still work on my behalf with the seller to make things right.

I guess that once you are paid you will put anything on the web -- even saying that this mover is one of the top five in **********  What a disappointing way to do business.

Thanks for nothing more than wasting my time.

    Regards,

Today I submitted quote requests to a total of nine moving companies through the 3rd party website consumervoice.org. In the contact request fields I used my first name, last initial, and email address, with all zeros in the telephone number field as I am uncomfortable sharing these details in an initial contact. All but one moving company responded using only the info I'd supplied in the initial inquiry, requesting that if I want to work with their company that I complete the missing information. One company, SafeShip, immediately called my cell phone and in their follow-up email, had populated not just the information I submitted through the initial inquiry, but my middle name, last name and cell phone number. Clearly this company is data-mining and, in my experience, crossing a serious line when it comes to respecting customer privacy and communication preferences. To make matters worse, I felt the representative's response to my request to remove me from their communication lists was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Please see email thread below: Below are three email messages: the first was Safe***********'s initial email to me from my online inquiry. The second was my response (I had just received an unsolicited phone call from their company to my personal cell as well). The third was the representative's reply to my message.
