These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges. BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.
On June 27, 2022, BBB contacted Instant Rx Pharmacy regarding advertised claims about CBD on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/instantrxpharmacy. Instant Rx Pharmacy advertises several health disease-related claims regarding the products they sell. The business also claims some of the products sold are FDA-approved.
Instant Rx Pharmacy advertises claims including:
"Do you feel any pain, anxiety, inflammation, insomnia, nausea, cancer-related symptoms, acne, schizophrenia, and seizures? Well, CBD may help if you are feeling any of these symptoms. Come by and check out our CBD products!"
"CBD may benefit a person's health in a variety of ways. It includes, but is not limited to, natural pain relief, anti-inflammatory properties, epilepsy, anxiety disorders, fighting cancer, type 1 diabetes, acne, Alzheimer's disease, quitting smoking, and drug withdrawals.
BBB Code of Advertising states claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy, or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data and should be backed up by reliable evidence.
BBB requested Instant Rx Pharmacy to provide evidence from recent, reliable, and competent studies, or other objective data including FDA approvals, clinical studies, or other objective studies to substantiate the advertised claims or discontinue the claims in their entirety from all advertising mediums.
Finally, Instant Rx Pharmacy sells gummies that contain CBD.

Additionally, The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved any other CBD products and is not aware of any basis to conclude that CBD is generally recognized as safe for use in human or animal food.
BBB requested Instant Rx Pharmacy discontinue the advertisement.
As of July 19, 2022, Instant Rx Pharmacy failed to respond to BBB's requests.
