Living in a nightmare, H and R block messed up my taxes so bad that 2 days before Xmas I get a $4,000 plus notice from revenue Canada notifing me that a T4 wasnt entered in the system and when I reached out to the branch they said I didnt give it to them was their excuse. The clerk was notified of all three. She forgot to enter the third one so as far as Im concerned she didnt do the job I paid her to do. Will never use or recommend them everReview from Matthew P

I am a first time home buyer. They told me I don't qualify for the benefit. They were wrong. They read the rules wrong. Now I'm having problems with CRA recieving the change if information. The tax assessor us away now. I've been in that place ten times for my 2023 tax return. And going in again today. I'm a veteran.Review from Dyane M

0 Stars!H&R Block doesn't have anywhere to fine a complaint or to help you if one of their "tax professionals" makes huge mistakes in your filing and then won't return calls or email you back. This is the most unprofessional and incompetent company I have ever dealt with regarding something as serious as your taxes. I used JH&R block for years, when I moved out of country I was told "we can still do your taxes, just come to Canada and we will file for you".... BIG MISTAKE! They claim to be able to do your taxes cross border and believe me, they cannot and then when you're back in your country of residence, you cannot even call H&R Block for am help to resolve the issues they created. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, spend a little more and have a CPA do it.Review from Solange H

Not confident that my filing was correct. I just received a notice from *** regarding my GST (see below) and sent a message online and did not hear back. Today I called and was on hold for 1/2 an hour and nobody answered the phone. I thought I paid for expertise, but clearly did not get it. What am I supposed to do now? I used to have an Account file my taxes, I think I would rather pay more to get it done correctly. This is terrible service. The *** cannot calculate the amount you may be entitled to receive for all periods because the necessary information has not been received. If you provide the information requested in the Explanation section, it will be processed and you will be notified if you are entitled.Review from Dyane M

0 Stars if I could!MD ***** at ***** Location in ******* has really messed up my taxes. I have paid over $2,000.00 to do my taxes and I have had to spend over 5 hours on with CRA correcting mistakes and trying to find my tax returns. I sent all my info in with over a month for my taxes to be done on time, still they aren't in - CRA has no record of them and said I will have to pay penalties!I have been emailing and calling asking for my agent to call me and go over my returns to be sure they are correct, it's been a month and no one will call me. I have no receipts, no *** or really anything at all. The only contact I have had is to tell me they are part time after April 30 and he will "get to it" - even though I handed in everything to him well before that and they should have been e-filed, but CRA has nothing from them.H&R Block has really gone down hill. Our tax preparation doubled this year from 200 to almost 400 dollars. We didn't ask the price to have 2 returns done as we expected a moderate increase. We were shocked when we came in to pay. Response from a manager was, "we just work here, we don't set the prices". After weeks waiting to resolve this with head office we had the same result. The taxes took 15 minutes to complete and we were told to call our own pension provider as they couldn't figure out a line. They couldn't submit electronically and we were told they could only mail it, which they did. We feel absolutely ripped off. We will never return.
