July ** 2024 I attempted to buy a antique motorcycle license plate with the price tag of $* on it. At the till I was informed the price tag was wrong and that it was actually $**. They refused to honor the price listed on the item stating it was a vendor issue and that they would have to contact the vendor to see if the price would be honored and not the current price of $**. The store should be held accountable to ensure the product is sold at the lowest price listed on the item and not the highest price on the item

This is a follow-up to your one star ****** review which we replied to in early July.

The customer states that there was a $* tag as well as a $** tag on the item. The $* tag did not have a vendor number on it which allows us to credit the correct vendor. Our policy is that a tag with a vendor number on it is the correct tag. We did offer to call the vendor to see about a discount and maybe they would honor the $* tag. The customer declined and they put the item back in the booth.  We have had people in the past put lower tags on items to try to get a discount, hence our policy to only honor the tag with the vendor number on it.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the law clearly states advertised price, there is no stipulation on vendor numbers or other information. The price was advertised as admitted by you as $* therefore it is your responsibility to honour it.

    Sincerely,

We offered to possibly rectify the situation; the customer refused

a Blank price tag with no vendor information is obviously not one of our store tags; we offered to attempt to clear up this issue but the customer refused. We cannot be held responsible for a blank tag with an apparent price on it which anyone could have attached to any item

The $* tag was obviously way below market value but we offered to contact the owner; again, the customer refused. A cynic could potentially consider that perhaps this customer attached the tag themselves hoping to get a ridiculous deal?
