On may of May 28, 2023 my wife and I bought a very expensive sectional sofa for our basement, This was way above our budget but due to the promotion of a "0% Credit Card" through Flexiti we decided that we would be able to take more hours at work and pay it off over the course of the year. We received some discounts through their promotion and the salesmen even split the bill up into two sections so we could take advantage of the deal on the first $10,000 and then the rest on the second deal. The whole process went very well and we were excited out the couch. We sat down to do the paper work and were explained that after the 0% ended that the ******* " credit card" worked the same as any other card upon the expiry of the 0% We owed the smaller portion of the loan 1 year from the date of purchase which would have been May 28, 2024 ( which we successfully paid off). The second portion, and the larger portion, of the couch was due 1 year out from the delivery of the couch. The couch was delivered on July 7, 2023 and according to Flexiti we had the 0% financing until July 15, 2024. We diligently paid off the loan and on July 15, 2024 we owed $500 dollars towards the loan and on July 22,2024 we paid off the loan in full. We were excited to have it done but assumed we would owe some interest on the $500 that we did not pay in time. On August 9,2024 we received an email stating that we owed $3074.26 in interest. We contacted ******* and they told us that we should have read the contract. I GET THAT I SHOULD HAVE READ IT 100% but felt that i didn't need to because of La-Z-Boys reputation. After some convincing Flexiti reduced the interest by 60% which I'm thankful for. The problem I have is that La-Z-Boy sold us this couch telling us it was a regular credit card, when it is not. When i contacted the store about what happened they were friendly but not willing to help make this right. I could have used a line of credit for the last $500 dollars to. MAKE IT RIGHT La-Z-Boy

As we can appreciate that Mitchell would be unhappy with having to pay accrued interest on his account after the due date, We can also say that there are statements made in the above that are in accurate.
La-Z-Boy has been in communication with Mitchell and with ******* to help him have this amount reduced, as a result of this, it has been reduced an additional 10% from the 50% offer to the 60%. This would need to have been paaid off by the next payment due date.  (email confirmations on this available at request).  exact response from Flexiti, that dispute amount owing and dates of payment available as they differ from Mitchells amounts and dates.
At time of purchase it is explained to all of our customers exactly how ******* works.  We never want to see anyone have a surprise at the end of a purchase with us.  La-Z-Boy reviews with all financing customers reminding them to register online and review statements as well as payment dates and La-Z-Boy is not responsible for any late or missed payments and any interest incurred.  This was acknowledged and signed for by Mitchell.  This document shows payment amounts as well as dates.  (Signed document by Mitchell can be provided at request).  All payment information is provided when logging into the online portal.
In reviewing this with the sales person, and manager, they have said, and is not, nor never has been promoted, and that it wouldn't have been called a credit card.
Our accounting department as well as our manager at that location Jaime, has been working with Mitchell in good faith to do all we can for him.  As this is a matter between Mitchell and *******, La-Z-Boy Edmonton has been involved to help navigate between the two.  La-Z-Boy Edmonton will continue to help Mitchell and see if ******* will be willing to re look at the situation.
