Recently had the displeasure of having an office confrontation with the denturist of this business. A family member was referred by his dental office. He completed the consult-had impressions made, paid a $500.00 deposit. Being that his case was somewhat complicated by the fact WCB would be involved we requested they do not proceed past what had already been completed in the first consult. This office does not deal directly with WCB which was a reason we asked that they proceed no further until a determination had been made by WCB as to whether they would cover any or all of a top plate to replace teeth previously done under a claim. We also sought a 2nd opinion with regards to costs and post operative care. Finding another denturist office that would work with WCB as well as our insurance company and fees were more reasonable I advised this denturist that we would not be using their services. I requested a finalization of billing which caused the denturist to become very belligerent and unprofessional. He shouted at me, would not listen to what I was saying only wanted me to listen to him. He told his front line staff member to walk away as he also turned his back walked away after raising his voice. Conduct very unbecoming and certainly then became a red flag for this business. Maybe he was having an off day not sure...but not a great excuse. He simply stated, "It's $500.00 for impressions" certainly much higher than other offices contacted. Very unfortunate that he feels the need to take money in such a manner. I understand there are dental fee guidelines and they can **** well over this, but this really seems excessive. More retaliation for advising we would not be using their services.
