I had my vehicle towed through onstar january 13 2024. In the process of hooking up my truck the cable damaged the front bumper of my truck. Originally the company acknowledged the damage and ****** to pay for the damages once I got quotes and sent them over. They refused to pay. Insurance will not cover it due to it being a 3rd party tow.

On February 16, 2022 my vehicle, hit a moose and rolled into the ditch. It was then towed by Highway 43 towing in Marythorpe Alberta at the request of RCMP. I contacted them about my vehicle. I went and picked up my personal belonging out of my vehicle and signed paperwork after asking that my vehicle be scrapped because it was a write off. There was no saving it or fixing it. I was told it was going to be scrapped that week. Then I was told in March 2022 that it was scrapped. We are now 11 months later and in 2023 and they still have my truck. It is still accumulating storage fees 11 months later, when I was originally told it was scrapped. January 2023 They are now saying I owe them upwards of $18,000 when I wasn’t even aware they had my truck still. They are now wanting me to sign more paperwork again to sign my truck over to them which I already did but now the paperwork they want me to sign has a new date and states that I will be responsible for the current balance, just it will not accumulate a further balance. I am being told that legally after 90days if they decide to keep my truck and not scrap it, I am not responsible for that because it is now considered abandoned because I have not contacted them in the 90 days after. As well as I have signed over my truck which means I am no longer responsible for it. I will provide pictures of the trucks condition when I signed it over February 16 2022

    Good Morning,

This is an odd situation, ******* did in fact sign her vehicle over as scrap. We are required to wait 90 days before destroying the vehicle, this is usually no issue as we only crush vehicles every 2 years. ******* informed us that her vehicle was essentially stollen and she was trying to go through insurance. She had lent out her truck to a friend and the friend had fled with it. Insurance did not come through for her as she had hoped. Within the ninety days, ******* called back stating she wanted to pay up the tow bill (not Storage) and remove her rims and tires from the signed over vehicle. She never did show up. Then in July she called again asking if someone could do it for her and she was once again told that she would be required to pay only the tow portion of the bill and she could take the rims and tires once again. She never did pay or show up. She called again in October and was advised of the same thing all over again. Now in January here she was told that same information all over again, except this time she talked to a dispatcher who quoted her the total amount of the bill as she was not aware of the ongoing situation. She saw the ongoing notes and decided that maybe this lady needed to sign it over again as it seemed like she had an interest in the unit and the crush was scheduled for the following week. I personally have tried hard to work this out with *******, as when you do not pay any portion of the bill and do not show up in a year, it will be crushed. She did come and remove all personal belongings and vent her anger on me as to the condition of her vehicle. I have been patient and compassionate with her situation. She has never followed instructions or shown up.

I am rejecting this response because: this response is full of lies. My vehicle was not stolen. I lent it out to a friend and she had a moose. My insurance informed me they would do nothing to help me which ******* was aware. As she even tried to contact them for them to pay the Tow bill and they would not get back to her either I was informed when I picked up my personal belongings that I was able to pick up my rims and tires after the vehicle was scrapped as they could not have a vehicle sitting on the ground without rims and tires, so I had to wait till it was scrapped. I was then notified that it was scrapped, and I could come get the rims and tires upon telling them I was on my way I was told not to bother because there was different locking studs on every night on the tires, which is nearly impossible. They don’t even make that many different keys and I know, for a fact there wasn’t even one so they told me they would get back to me at a later date when they were able to get the rims and tires off. Then I was told that the vehicle scrapped again but at that point I did not have a way to pick up my rims and tires, so upon letting them know that I would be on my way I was then informed that it was yet not scrapped again and that I was not able to pick them up because a mechanic was not in at that time I made ******* aware my insurance was not paying anything in February 2022. It wasn’t until I had called in January that I was informed that I had to pay the Tow bill before being allowed to obtain my rims and tires at which time I was told I needed to sign my vehicle over yet again. I did not vent any anger towards ******* about the condition of my truck what happened to my truck is not her fault so I did not show any anger towards her about the situation. I told her that I wanted to cry because of the condition of my truck as witch over the phone before seeing my truck she told me that I didn’t even want to see it because of the condition. Every time I have talked to ******* about my truck I have been told I was able to pick up my rims and tires once the vehicle has been scrapped not once did she say I had to pay the bill in order to obtain those it was not until I talk to someone in January 2023, that I was told. I had to pay it in order to obtain my rims and tires and at which point I said was not going to happen because that price was a ridiculous amount when my vehicle should’ve already been scrapped a year ago.

    Sincerely,

    ******* ******
