    this is a public declaration against spud.ca, grocery delivery, horrible website and phone interface, very predatory business practices, tricking users to spend money needlessly. delivering food while people are away and letting food rot. the b in their b-corp status must stand for *******.

    Good Morning.

    We connected with ***** on Friday, July 26th regarding this concern. ***** had a recurring subscription placed for delivery that was not cancelled prior to the order deadline as per our cancellation policy. We did, however, make an exception to this policy and cancelled the order as requested and they were not charged.

    Unfortunately, our records for this account also indicated a history of abusive language, last minute cancellation requests causing undue increased costs to Spud, and ongoing threating behavior. We had explained our cancellation policy before and the correct way to cancel orders and yet this information had not been heeded and the above noted behavior continued.

    Here at Spud, we have a zero tolerance policy for any abusive language, threatening behavior, or otherwise aggressive actions. For this reason, we have ceased all access to ****'s Spud account, closing and removing all relevant information, and will no longer be delivering to their address. All access to our ************** team has been revoked and they will no longer be able to contact us by phone, chat, or email.

    This was all explained to ***** on Friday July 26th as well.

    As per our Terms & Conditions, we reserve the right to terminate access to any or all of Spud's website and the related services or any portion thereof at any time, without any notice. Spud may, at its absolute discretion, suspend or terminate the ability of any customer to purchase products through this website for any reason whatsoever, and moving forward we will be choosing to do so in this case.

    We did not take this decision lightly and wish ***** the best.

    Horrible customer service & poor ********************** protocol. I was a customer with ********************** for many years. Never returned a single item until they left my final order in the rain, uncovered. I regularly ordered their 50 lb box of onions. No complaints, good quality, stored well (3 to 4 months), always delivered in a plastic Tupperware container protecting the onions from the weather. But the last order of onions was left in the pouring rain uncovered (spud claims they were covered, technically they were but with a cardboard banana box with a make shift cardboard lid, holes in the lid and holes in the side of the box). I was immediately disappointed & concerned with the possibility that the damp, wet onions might not store well. I dried them out best I could, hoping for the best. Unfortunately 2 weeks latter I noticed that the onions on at the bottom of the box were moldy, many moldy beyond any salvage use, moldy right through to the center. On further inspection I noticed that even many of the onions that looked ok would also soon be moldy as the outer layers were turning wet & slimy. Obviously, it took a while for the water damage to cause the onion to rot,. If I had known the water damage would rot the onions I would have immediately returned them, but I did not know that this would be the outcome, plus I thought I was dealing with a reasonable, honorable company who would realize their error & resolve my issue of moldy onions. I was shocked at their response. Sorry no refunds past 7 days. Despite my frustration, they just repeated their mantra. No refunds past 7 days. For the record, I did not even ask for a refund, in my initial call I simply told them about my experience with the wet moldy onions. I would have been content with any sort of compensations for the wet moldy onions. ($20 of my next order/50% off the next box of onions). But Spud customer service could only repeat their mantra, no refunds after 7 days. I am no longer a customer of **********************,

    Dear ******, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your recent experience. The boxes do arrive covered and were sealed with tape. There is also an estimated time of arrival on the website and a text message is sent once items arrive. Once the items have been delivered our team have no control over the environment the produce is kept in as it had been two weeks since they had arrived the refund was not approved. Part of our mission is to actively support organic and sustainable growing methods that respect crop diversity and soil health, avoiding the use of pesticides. Because we remain committed to supporting organic and sustainable farming methods, our produce may spoil quicker than conventional produce which uses pesticides and other chemicals to help slow down the spoilage process as much as possible. We sincerely apologize for any frustration caused.     I purchased a number of items, one of which was over 12 bags of a product. They only delivered one. They made a mistake and owned up to it and provided me with a store credit. But there's a catch.They require a minimum purchase of $60 to $100+ to deliver a product to your door. There is no store front. Because of this, I am now REQUIRED to spend over TWICE as much as my refund, in order to use this store credit.They are holding my money hostage until I spent MORE money on their product and services. This is illegal and they have yet to do what's right.
