I brought my vehicle in, and I wasn't told that the sub-frame was about to go. They put in new pads, a drive shaft, and rotors. Gave me the keys said get a wheel alignment, have fun, and I should get another year to three out of her. I brought her for the wheel alignment and the sub-frame broke. It was pretty rusted and AGT Automotive failed to tell me. They let me drive my vehicle home when it should have never left their shop. If something was that rusted it should have been reported, and shown to me before I agreed to any labor, but they failed to do so. I couldn't even return the parts they put in when I only went from there to the wheel alignment place. Also, I am the client, and this came out of my finances. I went into the office with my mother in law, and she mentioned a story about her son to the receptionist, and the woman realized she works with him at her other job. After that instead of dealing with me when my husband never even stepped foot into the building, she started texting and phoning him. This is all bad business practice, and they literally put lives at risk giving me back my vehicle in it's condition even with with newer parts on it. Now I cannot even sell my vehicle for less than what I paid for those parts if I were to do so. A sub-frame breaking means time to look for a new vehicle. I am highly disappointed how this business has treated me and my family. I feel completely ripped off. They failed to report that, and at the end of her conversation with me she wanted me to consider them for future automotive inspections. How can one trust a business like that if they missed something so severe?

IN RESPONSE TO ****** ******* COMPLAINT.  UNFORTUNTLY WE CANNOT MATCH THE STOREY THAT SHE GAVE.  THE 2011 **** ESCAPE WHICH UNFORTUNTLEY SHE BOUGHT WITHOUT DOING  A PRE PURCHASE INSPECTION WAS BROUGHT TO ** FOR A BRAKE NOISE COMPLAINT.  NOT A VEHICLE INSPECTION.  UPON **** TESTING AND CHECKING THE BRAKES WE ADVISED HER THAT FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REQUIRED, AND A STEERING SHAFT UNIVERSAL JOINT WAS WORN OUT AND NOTICED BY THE TECHNICTION ON THE **** TEST.  SHE AUTHORIZED TO HAVE THE BRAKES AND UNIVERSAL JOINT REPLACED.  WE THEN ADVISED HER IT WOULD BE IN HER BEST INTEREST TO HAVE THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT CHECKED.  WHICH WAS WHEN THE SUB FRAME WAS NOTICED.    IF WE HADN'T ADVISED  HER TO GO AND GET A ALIGNMENT DONE THE SUBRAME WOULD NOT OF BEEN  DIAGNOSED.  AGT AUTOMOTIVE WENT OVER AND ABOVE THE SERVICE REQUESTED AND I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT ****** FELT IT NECESSARY TO INVOLVE THE BBB AND NOT RETURN OUR PHONE CALLS.

****** ******* DID CALL FOR A QUOTE ON THE SUBFRAME REPLACEMENT WHICH WE QUOTED LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE ON ANOTHER SHOP'S QUOTE.  AND AT THAT TIME SHE DID NOT MENTION THATSHE WAS REGISTERING ANY SORT OF COMPLAINT.

I am rejecting this response because:

When I went to AGT Automotive I told them I heard metal grinding on metal. I left my car there at night so they can look at it the first thing in the morning. They called me the next morning, and told me it was the brakes, rotors, and drive shaft. They never mentioned the sub-frame. When diagnosing this sort of problem, the sub-frame is the first thing you see. I would have never said yes to the replacement of those other parts if I had known that the sub-frame was broken. This vehicle is now unusable, and I do not have the funds to repair the rest of this vehicle or buy another one.

It was their receptionist who called me. She told me to contact the ***************************** as they do not deal with private sales unless the vehicle was purchased through a business.

I would like to point out my father, in ******** has been trying to help me, but there is only so much he can do being so far away. He was an ACE Certified mechanic so his advice is invaluable.

My issue is AGT Automotive didn't do a thorough check when I said I heard metal grinding on metal. They billed me for a front end check. If you are down there repairing breaks, rotors, and the drive shaft, while trying to figure out why the vehicle is pulling a certain way, the sub-frame should have been noticeable. I never asked for a specific job. I asked them to please diagnose my vehicle to determine what is wrong. This has nothing to do with before purchase inspections.

I do not want to call them because the receptionist made me feel rushed and uncomfortable. I recently have been through a really abusive past, so I am making sure everything is in writing.

My complaint is I heard metal sounds and my vehicle wanted to steer itself. I brought my car to them to diagnose a problem. The enclosed repair bill shows I even spent extra money for this diagnosis. You do not repair a car, say you have one to three years left with her, and then after I drive off I find out my car is not drivable. This put me in danger and all those in and around my car in danger.

They are the mechanics, and that vehicle should have been properly diagnosed from the onset and before suggesting a wheel alignment appointment with no other recommendations.

Enclosed is the Bill for the repairs they did as well as pictures of the sub-frame. The damage was very evident and noticeable to anyone familiar with the mechanics of a vehicle.

    Sincerely,

    ****** *******
