I have been in communication Planet Fitness in *************** since Nov. 19, 2024, ever since I noticed two fraudulent 'pre-authorized' payments taken out of my chequing account. The withdrawals from my chequing account were titled Fees/Dues PLANET FITNESS. I have never been a member of Planet Fitness, and have never set foot in any Planet Fitness facilities. Ever since then, I have tried, through emails and innumerable phone calls with various *************** Planet Fitness staff, including *******, a woman named G, and the general manager ****** to stop these payments. I have also asked for reimbursement. The staff were sympathetic and polite, although seemingly powerless to stop these fraudulent withdrawals.Then, on Dec. 9, 2024, I called Planet Fitness once again, and was given a message from Diego. The message was that the withdrawals would stop and I would be reimbursed my money. No reimbursement was made, and Planet Fitness took an additional two payments from my chequing account. In addition to three payments of $15.75, there was also a payment of $51.45 taken out on Dec. 2, 2024. This brings the total amount of money that has been fraudulently taken out of my chequing account to be $98.70. I had to go to my bank on Friday Jan. 3 to shut my chequing account, as *** told me that this was likely the only way to stop the fraudulent withdrawals. This was a huge inconvenience as the account is a business account, and I receive e-transfers from myriad clients. I also have automatic payments come out, and am having to re-arrange all these payments with the various businesses and charities I make regular pre-authorized payments to.I have sent another email letter to Planet Fitness requesting reimbursement of my money. I have also initiated a collection via RBC.I feel that this problem should be reported to the Better Business Bureau, as it is a terrible way to do business, and I hope that other individuals in ** dont go through this. We are very sorry for Ms. ******** experience. Upon notification of the charges, we researched the issue; however, we could not find charges from our club to ***************** account. We contacted our payment processing company, who also verified they could not locate charges to the account number and bank information even with using the voided cheque and screenshot of the statements in which Ms. ****** provided. The payment processor replied back to us stating that they were unable to find any transactions with that account number and that they require more information from Ms. ****** to see if they can locate and then reverse the charges.The payment processor asked if Ms. ****** would be able to provide additional banking information so that their accounting department could track the transaction number and see if this charge is linked to any of our members' accounts. Given this is a request for additional financial information, they have asked for Ms. ****** to reach out to them directly via email at ********************************************* hope Ms. ****** will contact ABC Fitness in order to get this issue taken care of. We will also continue to follow up.
