Details of the Problem:On September 25, 2024, Waypoint Insurance failed to notify me of my insurance policy renewal. Despite updating my contact information in their system during a visit to Park ********* on September 26, 2023, Waypoint continued to use outdated contact details. This failure resulted in my insurance policy being canceled, as confirmed by the letter from ************* Services, dated November 5, 2024.The negligence caused significant stress and placed me and my family at risk of driving uninsured, which could have had severe legal and financial consequences. On November 19, 2024, my spouse and daughter were involved in a car accident. While insurance coverage was in place due to *** Canadas alert, it highlights the potential disaster that could have occurred without their intervention.Attempts to Resolve:I contacted Waypoint Insurance to address their failure. While they acknowledged the issue, they refused to provide any compensation or take full accountability for their negligence, as stated in their email response dated November 25, 2024.Disputed Amount:The insurance premium I paid for the renewal was CAD $1936. I am requesting a full refund due to the mental and emotional stress caused by their negligence.

On May 18th of this year, my girlfriend and I bought a car from a *** dealer in *********. Since there was an insurance agent in the store at that time, we decided to insure the new car and apply for license plates directly in the store. We thought that the insurance agent was an official **** specialist, but later found out that he was not. He was just an employee of Waypoint Insurance, Burrad, a third-party insurance company authorized by **** to sell its insurance. When we applied for insurance at that time, he strongly suggested that we add an additional new car insurance in addition to the basic insurance, and his words were very inflammatory and deceptive. He told us that almost all new cars must be covered by this insurance, and if we did not choose this insurance, we would suffer great losses in the accident. After we completed the payment, we received an email about the details of our payment and the insurance terms. We found that the new car insurance was a policy of another third-party insurance company, ******, and the description of the insurance was completely different from what the insurance agent said. We decided to cancel the insurance. After communication, he promised that the money we paid would be refunded, and we also received a confirmation email. But we have not received a refund since May 18th, so we sent an email to Optiom Insurance this month to inquire about the refund progress, but they told us that the refund was handled by the insurance agent and his company. So we decided to communicate with *****, the insurance agent who handled our insurance at the time. We called him on weekdays for a week, but no one answered. There was no reply to the email either. We also tried to contact his company, Waypoint Insurance, Burrad, but there was no reply, whether by phone or email.
