On Feb 3rd, 2024, I brought my car to Pacific Honda for the oil change however when I returned to pick up my car I was told that the oil pan and bolt had been stripped and needed to be replaced. I was quoted $700 for the oil pan change. During the process of changing the oil pan, the muffler was dismantled, resulting in the breaking of the muffler bolts. I was then quoted an additional $50 for fixing these bolts. The service consultant mentioned that this happened due to the car's age, and while Pacific Honda charges $500 for replacing the muffler, he managed to find a third-party solution at a lower cost. Finally, on Feb 9th, my car was deemed ready for pick up, and I was presented with a bill totaling $1232.93, which included $884 for the oil pan replacement and $80 for fixing the muffler. I proceeded with the full payment and retrieved my car. Upon starting the vehicle, I immediately noticed a loud and unusual noise that was absent prior to the service. The representative acknowledged the noise, and assured me they will look into that on the next day.On Feb 10th, I was surprised to be presented with another quotation, this time for the replacement of the tensioner and belt. They attributed the noise to the aged tensioner and belt, which I find to be an inadequate explanation. As a responsible car owner who has been driving this vehicle for almost six years without such a noise, I find it difficult to accept that the aging process suddenly resulted in this issue during the short period my car was in the service center's possession. Additionally, I have at least two adult witnesses who can confirm that the car did not have such a noise prior to being serviced at Pacific Honda. I entrusted Honda Pacific with a fully functional car, and after a week in their care, I received a vehicle that I am not comfortable driving.
