On March29th/23 the clutch on my 1993 ***** pickup failed.I took it to AJ Transmissions in North Van for a complete clutch replacement.(mileage @******* kms ) The clutch was the original clutch that came with the truck. On May 30th/23 (mileage ******* ) the clutch failed again in ******* and I had to take it back to AJ's.The work order explains the problems they found. The clutch never felt right to me,,but they said everything was as it should be. In June/24 I took a trip to ******* and made it as far as Flagstaff and had to get towed into ******* .I took the truck into a mechanic to check out the shifting problem and it turned out that the throwout bearing was shot and they installed a new one. I drove home from ******* and made it as far as ******* again and the clutch went again.I took it back toAJ's for the 3rd time and they said I needed a whole new clutchagain.they said they wouldn't warranty the last one because they didn't replace the throwout bearing I had done in *******,even though I brought it back w/me and have pictures of it still. They agreed that it ws in bad shape ,but offered no help on Warranty or cost adjustment. By this time,I had only logged15,000 kms in total. No towing, all highway miles w/ very little shifting. The truck doesn't get driven in the ******* top things off, in Sept./24,about a month after they installed the new clutch,I lost the hydraulics again and had to be towed into Kamloops to ********* ********* to find the problem. AJ's took care of this $371.00 invoice but I was stuck 50 kms out of town w/o wheels and had to rely on neighbours for transportation. I also used up most of my **** towing credits.

    Business response

    25/10/2024

** ****** paid us in March, 2023 to replace a clutch in his 30 year old

1993 ***** Pick Up Track that is loaded with heavy welding equipment.

It very much appeared to be a heavy duty work truck.

We did indeed replace his clutch at that time (March/23) . And, when we did that work -

his clutch hydraulics appeared ok and in our opinion we did not think

the hydraulics were needed so we did not sell them to him in March of 2023. In May of 2023, ** ******************** the truck back and at that time we replaced the hydraulics that perhaps we should have sold him

in March. In May/23 - we did not charge ** ****** ANY labour to replace the hydraulics and at that time, he paid for parts only, NO LABOUR.

As per the above attachment per BCAA (see attachment) and Industry standard, we offer a one year, ****** kms warranty

(which ever comes first) to non commercial vehicles. We consider ** ******** vehicle as Commercial (therefore we are not obligated

to offer one year ****** lms warranty bu we did anyway).

All of our parts suppliers only offer us one year, ****** kms (or which ever comes first) warranty.

As ** ******** vehicle throw out bearing failed in ******* 15 months later (more than one year) after the repairs were made by AJ, he

was out of the warranty period. ** ****** then had that component replaced in ******* in June of 2024.

After ** ****** returned to ******, the clutch failed again - after the shop in ******* had the transmission out to

replace the throw out bearing. He brought the truck back to us in August/24 and we replaced the clutch AND (contrary

to what ** ****** states in his letter) we made a price adjustment - giving him a $406.97 discount.

When we learned of a hydraulic problem in September that "MAY" have been a result of the work we had done

in August/24 (the month previous) we directed ** ****** to a local dealership to have the issue addressed (paid by AJ's) and we

paid ** ****** an additional $50 in transportation fees (which are not covered in warranty circumstances).
