    Hi, there,My friend and I visited West Coast Kia to test a used car on November 5, 2023. The sales **** made a color copy of my friends driver's license before we tested the car and didn't tell us they were going to withhold it. However, I'm not very satisfied with the car, and we wanted my friends driver's license color copy back, they told me that they had to save that file to be sales testing records, and we made it clear that its our ID copy and we wanted it back, then the manager Rocko came and told us they didnt have the key of that file cabinet, but we can come to pick it up the next day. On one hand, we live in Richmond and West Coast Kia is in ***********, which spends 6 hours commuting by bus. And both of us are busy on workdays, which will bring us great inconveniences. On the other hand, that's our ID copy, how come they withheld it without our permission, and could not give it back when we were there? I texted **** the next day, I hoped she could mail me my friends driver's license since it is too far for us to pick it up. But she didnt reply to me.Best regards.

    Good afternoon,

    It is our policy to obtain a scanned copy of the customers driver's license before the customer goes on a test drive. This is common practice in the industry. 

    We did not keep a hard copy of the customers drivers license. There was a language barrier, and this was explained to the customer at the time of the test drive. We would be happy to send the scanned copy of this customers drivers license if this puts them at ease. I will have our Sales Manager reach out to the customer to obtain the correct mailing address.
