    I am writing to file a formal complaint against Dawson + Sawyer, the developer of ***************** Condos located at ***************************************************** Despite multiple attempts to resolve my concerns directly with the developer, the issue remains unaddressed.Complaint Details:I own Unit 320 in Building 2 at ************************. My assigned parking space (#***) and storage locker (Unit #***, Room 4) are near the P2 elevator. However, I can only use the P3 elevator to access my unit. The significant distance from my parking spot and storage locker to the P3 elevator is a considerable inconvenience, especially as I have a three-year-old daughter. The lengthy walk disrupts her sleep, adversely affecting our routine, and has contributed to chronic back pain for **** raised this issue with the building manager, ******* from ****************** who advised me to contact the developer directly. I reached out to Dawson + Sawyer on May 8, 2024, and followed up on May 9, 2024, and May 17, 2024, requesting reassignment of my parking spot and storage locker closer to the P3 elevator. Despite my persistent efforts, Dawson + Sawyer has not provided a satisfactory resolution.Key Points of Concern:Inconvenient Assignment: The current assignment is exceedingly far from the P3 elevator, the primary access point to my unit.Impact on Family: The distance disrupts my three-year-old daughter's sleep, particularly when she falls asleep in the car, and has contributed to my chronic back pain.Lack of Resolution: Despite multiple correspondences and follow-**** Dawson + Sawyer has not addressed my concerns.Enclosed are copies of my email communications with Dawson + Sawyer.Desired Resolution:I request the Better Business Bureau to assist in ensuring Dawson + Sawyer reassigns my parking spot and storage locker to a location closer to the P3 elevator. This adjustment would greatly alleviate our difficulties and improve our living conditions.

    Hi ********,

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize as we did not receive the 1st notification of this complaint. As youre aware from the emails ***** attached, we have engaged with them multiple times to explain there are no available/unassigned parking stalls to switch them to. 

    This is not a Developer issue. The complainant needs to contact to the ****************** directly. 

    This building is sold out and has been occupied for over a year, as of April 2023.  All parking assignments were completed prior to occupancy in 2023 and are documented by a legal contract attached to the unit. ***** is not the original owner and did not purchase from the developer, Dawson + Sawyer. ***** repurchased this unit from the original purchaser on March 15, 2024. If a purchaser has accessibility, lifestyle, or mobility concerns, it is up to them to conduct their own due diligence prior to purchasing a home in the development to ensure their new home meets their specific needs, in the same way a purchaser would conduct their own due diligence prior to purchasing a detached home. 

    Attached is a copy of the original Parking Addendum executed by the original purchaser that notes the configuration, location and size of the aforesaid Condo Parking Stall(s) will be determined by the Vendor in the Vendors sole discretion.. 

    The developer is no longer the landlord of the parkade or storage lockers and no longer involved in any requests for alterations to the existing assignments.  The entire project was turned over to the ****************** following final building occupancy last year.  The ****************** is the official legal landlord at that point. We have already directed them to contact the Strata Corporation with their request should they wish to try and change the units assignment.
