We had this company fix our lock in June 2022. The technician came and did the work in 12 minutes. We were invoiced for $609.00 which our company paid by cheque in June. The cheque was cashed and then again in October 2022. The same cheque with the same check number and date and amount. We have our bank looking into this. We have called multiple times to be told that someone will contact us. No one has. Today we were hung up on 4 times when they realized it was us calling. We want our $609.00 back.

I am * ****** living in a Vancouver condo. I need a repair for a bi-fold closet door and for a sliding glass patio door. I phoned ***** ******* ********** * *** ***** ***** * **** ***** *** ** ***** **** **** ** *** ***** ** "Top Locksmith". A technician arrived promptly and was here for four hours. After one hour he was unable to repair the bi-fold door (broken hinge plate and rivet) and said that he would have to come back to finish that. He then worked for 3 hours on the patio door. His work was messy with greasy fingerprints all over the door vinyl and other painted surfaces. He lifted the door out and replaced the two rollers on the bottom of the door. He damaged the door by cutting out parts of the metal and then gluing (!) in a piece of wood (!) to restore, at least temporarily, the functionality of the door. For now at least, the door glides more smoothly. Then came the bill - $991.00! When asked to explain the high figure her said that the rollers themselves cost $600. (I have since determined that the exact roller he used is available on ****** for $13.49.) I said that I did not accept that and would not pay that bill. He asked me what I would be prepared to pay. I said $250 max. plus GST. So after much acrimony that is what he accepted. I told him not to come back to repair the bi-fold door and that I would not let him into my house again. I found the technician and the company to be very unprofessional *** ************ ******* ** *******.

Hello ******, we are proud of our prompt service and low prices, we had to install new hardware for your door that cost much more than the door itself, you agreed to the price before any work, and the scope of work was explained to you before any work done, we feel that you tried to avoid payment as soon as we started the job if it's not according to your budget you had to stop us and finish the project yourself. eventually, we lost money on this job and you are complaining about the ********** discount that you got

Very interesting commentary, given that the company denied even having been here when I phoned them the following day to discuss this with their management. But, to set the record straight, the technician acknowledged when he was here that he had not discussed the price in advance of the work being done. And I have the packaging for the rollers that were installed * ****** * ****** ******** ************* ******** ******* That exact part is available on ********* for $13.49. So much for costing "much more than the door itself". This business is fraudulent, unprincipled, and totally unprofessional.
