***** ******* *** ***** ******* ** ***** *** ***** ***** Our house and kitchen cabinets are of a late 70's vintage Alderwood. Richard said the bones were still good but doors would require some rebuilding and TLC. He worked his magic and just finished today. We are very pleased with results along with minor upgrades he suggested. They are now probably better looking than the original look from '79. I cannot say enough good things about Richard (of Magic Cabinet Restorations) and the work he recently completed for us. We built our house in 1989 and still loved the oak cabinets we chose for our kitchen way back then. They were sorely in need of some TLC, however, as we had done virtually nothing over the years to maintain them. Richard came recommended by a friend, who had had him re-finish their kitchen cabinets with excellent results. From our first consult it was evident that Richard was both knowledgeable and experienced. He was able to offer some suggestions for solving some very specific issues we were having, and clearly had an eye for detail in terms of minor fixes that would improve the overall look of our cabinets. As we got to know Richard, we learned that his work is very much a "labour of love" for him; he is very passionate about what he does and takes extreme care to achieve perfect results. In addition to beautifully restoring our cabinets, Richard readily and competently addressed major work such as reconfiguring a cabinet and moving our pantry over to accommodate a larger fridge, raising our microwave shelf and making a new backing for it, removing the wood from our bay window and shortening the window frame, repairing all of our corner "pull-outs", and completing extensive repair work to an area by the dishwasher that had been damaged by water. I could go on and on as Richard did so much, all with the utmost care and concern for our satisfaction. ** ********** **** *** *** ******* *********** ****** **** ** **** our kitchen cabinets now look gorgeous and brand new, and in that Richard is an honest, sincere and wholly trustworthy individual. I / we recently had our cabinets refinished. They had been new in 1984 and it was time for a renewal or refinish. We chose the refinish. We selected Richard's Magic Cabinet Restorations. A short conversation at the Home show was all it took. Richard comes off as an honest caring individual and the desire to welcome him into your home and trust him to do the work he says he is capable of is almost instant.
A date is set for an inspection and appraisal and then a start date is set. Be patient for the start date because it is well worth waiting for.
Richard's knowledge of process and skill are a pleasure to watch. He treats each door, and frame individually and will adjust his technique to maximize the final outcome. His color matching skills are amazing. Richard is a craftsman with an artists eye for perfection. His patience and need for perfection enters the room before he does. We are totally satisfied with the work he did for us***************************
