  I would like my cash deposit back from Dan at Astro auto sales. I attempted to help my wife by a vehicle that he has advertised on kijiji. He did credit checks and has her social insurance number and tried to get me to put up over ****$ towards a van that he advertised for ****$ before the deal could be done. After I backed out he informed me that he was keeping my deposit because she tied up his money. He never quit advertising the van the hole time and extorted me. None of this was advertised *** ** *** ***** ********* ** ***

  Monday January2 2023 Mr. Rob ***** came to see a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander I had advertised on Marketplace. Rob was looking at purchasing it with his girlfriend *****. Rob decided he wanted to buy it so he gave me a ****** cash deposit as part of the ******** he was going to use as the deposit on the lease. Rob told me that he and his girlfriend ***** would be back in Winnipeg Thursday January 5 2023 for a Funeral and they would come by after it so ***** could see the van and they would have more money towards the ********.Rob ended up not attending the Funeral and ***** didn't show up.Rob had told me when he initially gave me the ****** that the bulk of the ******** deposit was coming from an MPI claim which he thought wouldn't take long to settle.I offered to help him settle the claim as I have over 35 years experience in dealing with MPI however he declined my assistance then Rob informed he he would have the remaining ******* by the end of January when he settled with MPI.I was not happy to hear that as I would never had taken his deposit to wait a month to get the deal done however I had his money and figured he would settle in a timely manner and it would be paid sooner so I held the vehicle for him.Rob texted me on Friday January 27 to tell me he still hadn't settled with MPI and that he didn't have the remaining ******** he said he would have at month end.Rob told me he was sending ***** over to pick up his ****** deposit.I told Rob he forfeited his deposit because he tied up my vehicle for 4 weeks and failed to follow through with his promise.Rob seems to think that he is entitled to his money back because he saw that the vehicle was still on Marketplace during the month of January.Astro Auto Sales has a practice of leaving our vehicles advertised until they are paid in full.* **** ** *** * ****** ********* ** *** ******* *** ***** *********** **** ** *** ** *** ******* ** *** **** * ******* ** ***** ******** ***
