I hired Kae-Mad Roofing to install heat trace wire our properties in ****** *****. They completed the work on November 17 and I paid $2,3910.00 on November 17 which was the balance after a $1600 deposit. The payment was made by e-transfer. At our ****** **** property one section of the heat trace wire was coiled and placed under the front steps by the front of the house while being plugged in. The coil generated enough heat that the outside casing of the trace wire melted and created a short in the trace wire ( photos below). Due to the short, the wire when plugged in to the GFI receptacle consequently trips the GFI. The short has rendered this section of the trace wire useless. I tried calling Mr. B**** who responded by text only. He indicated that his employee did not place the excess wire under the step however, during the installation, no one in my household was home and I did not return home for another week after the installation. Due to the warmer temperatures since installation, I did not notice the issue until I contacted Mr. B**** on Tuesday December 3 to advise him of this situation and request it be looked at and the issue resolved. Because Mr. B**** did not return my phone calls, I sent an email dated December 6th advising him that ff this matter was not resolved within 2 weeks, I would have no choice but to pursue further action. This may include filing a formal complaint with ******** ******** seeking ***** ******* or sharing my experience through public reviews and social media. Following this email I initially received a text saying he would resolve the matter to which I replied that I greatly appreciated it and thanked him. Later that evening between 6:32 pm and 4:14 pm the following day I received 22 texts that included profanity. I did not reply to any of these texts. Attached is a document with the text chain I received and my email to Mr. B**** as attachments.
