We obtained a written quote from bluenose roofing and siding Nov 14, 2022 to reside our home with vinyl siding. We liked the price and decided to proceed the following Spring and made a 25% deposit to secure the job. A total of $3,602.38 was paid to Bluenose. Once paid we did not hear from the company for many months. We called their office line requesting to speak to someone who scheduled jobs, informing them we had paid a deposit for our siding job. After several phone calls I was able to obtain the office managers email address in October. I reached out and she informed me that the salesman that we had been dealing with was no longer employed by Bluenose and that all jobs had been taken over by **** the owner and to send any communication to a generic email address, info@bluenose. I was able to also obtain ****** cell phone number and email address, I called various times leaving voicemails and sent several emails. **** responded in late November indicating we were in a queue and would be coming up soon. I called him and he answered and we chatted through the timing more specifically, he indicated they worked year round and I expressed concern about doing the job in the winter, he indicated this was nothing to Worry about. I subsequently emailed him saying I would like to hold off until the spring so long as it did not impact our position in the queue. I Did not hear back from him or the company and let it rest for the winter. I called again in the spring leaving various messages and voicemails with no luck. **** finally returned one of my phone calls in June indicating we were next on the list and would be 2-3 weeks and the guys would be on the job, this would put the start date at the beginning of July, which I agreed to. The time came And went and I have received no Communication from them, I have called and left various messages but no one returns my calls. My next step is small claims court.Initial Complaint

Received a quote in the winter of 2022 for siding and insulation and put a deposit down for the job on February 2, 2023 for a total of $6,687.25. For the next few months we made numerous calls and received repeated promises for the work to commence at specific times. None of these promises were fulfilled. We finally asked for our deposit back and the owner, **** ******, refused to do so. We then met with **** face to face in the fall of 2023 at the home that was to be sided and **** stated that the initial estimate should never have been given as the issue we were trying to fix was not with the siding. He stated the person that provided the estimate no longer worked with the company. **** still refused to return the deposit even after nullifying the initial quote. In order to end this ordeal we negotiated and **** sent an offer dated February 1, 2024 which we accepted. He agreed to pay $4,111.25 within 90 days. He has failed to do so. We are looking for the full refund to be returned of $6,687.25.Initial Complaint

We purchased our home in 2020 bidding well above the asking price and further outbidding the other potential buyers in part due to the fact the roof of the house was still covered by a 10 year warranty with Bluenose Roofing for the roofing they installed in 2016 and who’s warranty was transferred to our name upon purchase of the home which is not due to expire until 2026. In early 2023 a gap in the eves of the roofing opened up exposing a hole into to the attic visible from the exterior and interior of the attic. At that time we immediately contacted Bluenose Roofing to report the request for repairs as per their warranty guidelines. The office of the company responded that they where not available due to high work load. I explained we were not potential clients we were exiting clients and the office apologized for the misunderstanding and booked an appointment for a technician to check on the request. That person never showed up and when we inquired next the office told us that worker was now on vacation. We waited for a year with no more news. This passed May of 2024 We again reached out to the office and the one line response we received was they “would pass this on.” That was 4 weeks ago and we have heard nothing from the company in any form. We would like help to resolve our request for roof repairs completed as per the warranty in our names covered by Bluenose Roofing.Initial Complaint

I put a deposit down for a siding job in Oct 2021 and for the last four months, I have tried to get an approx date to start. I called weekly without anyone getting back to me and last week I finally received a call from Karl. And after asking for a date to start. He proceeded to curse at me saying I was a punk up in his F***ing face, and had been doing this for F***ink years and he didn’t need this BS. After a minute of him ranting I said I was cancelling and he said I would lose 30% of my deposit. I told him my lawyer would contact him. He hung up but called back and said he’d send the entire deposit, and did, but there is no way a business should ever talk to a customer like that. I will go out of my way to recommend to others, to never use this company. Most unprofessional business encounter I’ve had the misfortune to deal with. The e we order thing was that I just wanted my house sided . I didn’t want my money back, I stayed around for the summer instead of any travel plans and now I’m out of luck for getting my house done. Good day. As to do with claim I do admit to loosing my cool n this customer. He spoke to me like a child and extremely condescendingly. I do not tolerate any person to speak to me this way and I will at no time be a doormat for anybody who wants to unload their feelings of frustration on me. He called my personal cell phone and not the company’s main number at a time that I was dealing with a very serious personal matter.As for the 30% cancellation charge it is clearly in our contract. Due to my reservations of the way I handled Mr. Hazel’s bullying tactics I decided the best thing was to just give him his deposit and send him on his way to avoid both of us any future stress.Thanks,**** ******DirectorBluenose Roofing and Siding Ltd.Business response

For starters, I called the business line. I do not even know his personal number. All I asked was for a date that the job would be started. If he interprets that as condescending then he should probably be in a different business . It’s wasn’t an unusual request since I’d been waiting a year and he hadn’t returned any calls except once a couple months prior and said he be starting my place in a couple of weeks and after the final call I simply asked a definite date and that’s when he started yelling and cursing.
