  A few weeks prior, a friend sent me a link to reserve tickets for an outdoor event that had begun the previous year and that we, including my teenager, had attended. I did not see any mention of a 19-year age limit on this link, but I did notice that they requested to name the “adults” who would participate. Assuming the questions about the "adult lead or follow" were about the salsa lesson specifically, I put down all of our names as my teen wanted to learn. After completing the reservation, I paid the fee for the three entry tickets and received a confirmation email. A poster for the event was included in the email as well as a copy of the Terms and Conditions, including one of the statements saying that if one was under 18 years of age, parental signature was required. On August 19, 2022, after entering the outdoor venue without anyone asking ID cards for my teen and after being able to buy a beverage ticket specifying to the staff that it was for an underage child, eventually, the owner of Haliente noticed us and told us after a very unpleasant exchange that we should not be there, despite the presence of an enclosed "beer garden". The entire exchange, including being told by the owner that his own children were at home in bed (the event started at 8:30pm), ended with us leaving, and I stopped at the entrance to ask for a reimbursement which I was told I would get (someone took down my email address). He is now refusing, saying we should have stayed after he changed his mind as we were leaving, and after being told by his staff that we would be reimbursed. The following day, I went back to look for a copy of the poster, looking for the statement about the exclusivity of 19+, and the quality made the small print at the bottom illegible (see email), where the age limit was written. I only found one original copy of the poster when I specifically googled it whereby I was able to read the age limit. Certainly the email confirmation I received did not mention it.
