Dropped off my laptop go smart screen 15” last summer 2021 just to be cleaned out viruses nothing major ***** ****** told me the cost would be $100. called back a few days later no answer kept calling leaving messages no response.I work everyday until 4pm so it was hard running down to the shop only to find it closed and why post the hours open when he’s not. So time is dragging on finally got a hold of ***** ****** and was told he didn’t get around to fixing it I said it didn’t need to be fixed just cleaned out and said oh what kind of laptop was it told him and he said it’s in my warehouse for storage until the parts come in no I said forget it give me my laptop back. Time passed again waiting and calling no response at all finally I went down a couple of weeks ago and confronted him I want my laptop right now which he said oh somebody came in used my sons name and took the laptop in my response why would someone pay $100 bucks to get my laptop out? Only me and my son knew it was there all the lies he was telling me. Anyhow went to small claims court the next day had the papers to be served and figured the only day he was open was on a Thursday so went down to serve him and low and behold he closed up shop everything gone! He knew he would be in trouble for stealing so him and his wife fled to Halifax. I contacted the police and told them my situation on theft of my laptop and that he needed to be served couple days later police called back saying they found him but couldn’t tell me where he was because ***** ****** said he was afraid I might cause him bodily harm, what a joke! I said how am I suppose to serve him if you won’t give me his address? Police said I have to use a private eye hmmm no help at all ! I said what if I went to his ex girlfriend’s shop he shared space with bubble tea and stole stuff in there ? Same thing theft is theft I would be charged with theft so why isn’t ***** ****** being charged?? I paid over 2 grand for my laptop I need restitution
