We have provided a deposit for a staircase to be built at our cottage in July of 2023. They had completed engineered drawings, which we have since been told are not correct and inaccurate. After receiving our $10,000 deposit, they no longer had any communication with us. Eventually they delivered the beams for the stairs which were 2 feet short and they expected the remainder of the money, which we did not provide. They once again did not return any of our calls or emails and at this point we have moved on to another company. We wish to receive the full refund in exchange for the improper sizing of the beams.

In November of 2023 i met with Saed A*****, a sales rep for Modern Stairs Inc, at their showroom in North York and we cam e to an agreement for them to supply and install stairs and railings for our new home. I gave them a 5400.00 deposit to get started and the designer came to our home and measured. On approximately January 12/2024 The designer made a design and submitted the shop drawings so they could begin production and we were told delivery would be 6 - 8 weeks after this. I have nothing and the phone # for the business does not work, the private cell #s we have for the sales rep and for the Owner Arie M*******, no longer work. They do not reply to phone or email messages prior to the phone #s becoming inactive. I have given them a total of 13,750.00 in deposit and my last contact with them mid February I was told they are behind and overbooked. * *** *** ***** *** ***** ****** ******* **** ********* ***** ******** ***** ******* **** ** ******** ** ***** ** **** ***** ******** **** ****** *** I want my deposit back or for him to finish the job. * **** ****** ** **** **** ****** I have many emails and texts and bank receipts for e transfers sent to them and **** used to pay the deposits.

Modern Stairs wrote us multiple emails to solicit work from **********. We had them price some stairs for a project at ** ********* ****. The client chose to move forward with Modern Stairs and ********** issued a PO. However, there were concerns with the details/site measurements. In order to work out final details of the stair design, the client met with Modern Stairs at their showroom at **** ******** ** on May 17. A final stair design was agreed upon and the client was told the stairs would be ready to install within 2 weeks. A 20% deposit of $6932.55 was paid. On May 29, Modern Stairs issued renderings for approval by the clients, but the 3D renderings were not like what was agreed upon in their showroom meeting. On May 30 ********** requested if June 12 could be confirmed as an installation date pending final rendering confirmation and on May 31 revised renderings were issued and approved same day. Modern Stairs required the remaining 30% deposit payment along to proceed following the 3D renderings. On June 1, another cheque of $10,398.82 was issued for the remaining deposit amount. On June 2, Modern Stairs suggested an install for week of June 19. However, when ********** would reach out to confirm the install date, we were passed around from contact to contact, but no one would confirm. ON JULY 13, Modern Stairs emailed ********** confirming an install date of JULY 28 (now 6 weeks after the original promised installation date). Modern Stairs did NOT show up for the installation and ********** emailed the next day to find out when they are coming. After repeated phone calls and emails, Arie M******* and Serge D****** were deemed to have abandoned the project and we had to get another stair company to do the work at a premium to have it expedited to satisfy schedule and gain occupancy. From what we can tell, these stairs were never fabricated, and Modern Stairs never intended to actually deliver and install as they were initially promising.
