I purchased a New Cadillac Lyriq and less than 24 hrs I had a major issue with the breaking system (one pedal breaking). The system failed and was brought back to the dealership to be analyzed and corrected. (Remember less than 24hrs of purchasing a NEW Cadillac). GM headquarters was notified about this issue as well. After having to wait almost two weeks for a replacement part which was on back order and with NO ETA, After a long wait I received my vehicle back which the problem was resolved (so they said!) TRUSTING the process and still trying to be excited, I moved on from the situation, BUT not even two weeks later I was inches away from a major accident getting onto the highway with kids in the vehicle because the one-pedal breaking system had failed AGAIN! I immediately notified the dealership and GM headquarters. The dealership had the SECOND attempt to fix the issue which they originally said they "fixed". Now at this point I have 100% lost all confidence in this vehicle without a doubt and rightfully so when GM has put me and more importantly my children at risk of Safety! As a solution, GM wanted to offer me a small cash rebate for the warranty I had purchased, to make up for the almost catastrophic issue. Nancy, who was an Executive Review Rep from the GM headquarters, was in charge of my case and made this offer via phone and said it would be dealt with at the dealership level. She had FAILED to mention that along with this small compensation, there was a Legal "release" document that I was required to sign, to waive ANY and ALL responsibility from further incidents involving this failure, even if the system fails again on any level they would NOT be responsible under any circumstances. I then spoke to Nancy from GM again for the fourth time since the first occurrence to explain how unacceptable and offended I was for them trying to completely wash their hands of any current and future responsibility by trying to get me to sign a Release form.Review from Laureen P

Do not buy a Chevrolet Equinox if you live in a cold climate area. This morning for the 6th year in a row my turbo air intake froze and while driving on a highway where speed limit is 100km the engine powered down from 100 to 60km in less than 5 seconds. the semi truck behind me used its Jakes and locked its brakes to avoid rearending me or hitting the cars in the lane next to us. He missed my car by inches, ******* **** **. I limped my car to the dealership still shaking from the near miss. ******** Chevrolet had to replace this part last year because it cracked, said they repair it as per Chevrolet requirements and there is no fix for the issue at this time. I called Chevrolet Canada to be told since it is off warranty, there is nothing they can do. This is a part they know has problems and they don't care. Had I been hit by the semi at that speed I wouldn't be here, but that isn't Chevy's problem because there is no warranty. They have done nothing to fix the issue and are still putting this turbo in the new models knowing that this happens. Now I have to wait to see what I owe again this year to fix this problem and chevy keeps putting the part in new vehicles. ** *** **** **** ******* ******* *** **** **** ** *** *** * ********* *********Review from Farrukh S

Been waiting for a part since June 17, dealership has been doing wonders trying to get information. Gm customer service won’t answer any questions. I was told that the part was shipped and then canceled. They won’t pay for my payments at all. I’m a young kid with only way of transportation is thru my truck which is sitting waiting for parts. Not pleased at allReview from Terry P

***** **** **** ***** ** * ****** We purchased a new truck from GM in November 2022, and it’s been nothing but headaches ever since. 18 months in to owning the truck, and mid May 2024 we took it in to the service centre at ***** ********* ** *******. It has been sitting there ever since “waiting for a part” that is apparently on back order, with no estimated arrival date. Thanks to our warranty, ironically we’ve been driving a rental ***** truck in the interim, and have had no issues. Six weeks later, we still have no answers, and have now had to cancel summer plans as our rental truck can’t tow our holiday trailer. * ** ********* ************ ** *** **** ******** ******* ** **** ******** **** *** **********. We reached out to GM Canada, and after assuring us they’d have some kind of answers or a solution for us within 72 hours, we were disappointed, again, 3 days later when they claimed they were still waiting to hear back from the dealership. We’re paying for a vehicle we can not drive for over a month now, and in addition to that can’t even use our holiday trailer because we put our faith in a truck company that we clearly can’t rely on. GM Canada needs to do better! Either produce reliable vehicles, and replacement parts (what a concept?) or provide PAYING customers with alternative vehicles that are equivalent to the ones we own that are sitting in your service centres across the country. After this experience, I will never buy another Chevrolet vehicle again!Review from George O

I have my truck in service for two months (60 days) and nobody has information (I called multiple times the service where the vehicle sits and the GMC Canada line) about when the parts will be available if ever. Besides the fact that I was told multiple times that the request has been escalated to the highest level of priority the GMC Canada phone number apparently was created only to protect and cushion the higher tiers of people that can really look into this problem. The phone operators won't put their managers on the phone, "they are terribly sorry though"-(and I don't know why) so you can't actually escalate the issue. I made *** *** stupid mistake to buy a GMC in August of last year (so the vehicle was down two months out of nine) and I still pay for it. I know this email won't go anywhere else. * **** **** *** ** **** ** ** **** *** *****Review from Blair G

********* ********* ********* *** * ** * **** **** ******* The only thing GM has going for it is some nice designs. That is it. Customer Service is non existent *** ***** ******** *** ***** **** ****. Case in point. 2010 Camaro 2LT/RS V6 engine, At about 70,000 kms, power steering hose went, replaced it, thought it was a little premature for this. So once again under a year it blew again, replaced at no cost. Well, guess what under a year the O.E.M. replacement also failed *** ****** *** ** ***** *** **** ***** ** * ************* *** ** ******* *** **** ** ****** gm would not replace the replacement that failed. So once again, I had to buy another hose. This time I had an aftermarket dealer find, fix and replace the problem with gm's horrible design of the power steering system. So now car has 98,000 kms and the engine light is on...**** ***. It is the dreaded TIMING CHAIN code. GM used this failed chain in more than my car and it has failed in those to. ** **** **** ******* *** *** *** ****** *** ******* **** ********* *** ** *** *** ****** So I called GM and nope, sorry! I would of been happy if they at least covered half of the $3500 bill I now am faced with. So, this is not the first GM that I have owned, others have failed me too. So now, lesson learned, ** *** ** ************* ********** *** * **** ****** *** * ****** ** ***** ** ** **** ******** They just lost a customer *** **** ** * ******* ** ******* I will NEVER buy a GM vehicle again. * **** **** ** ******** ******* **** ******* ***Review from Ted H

I am not a satisfied customer I bought a 2021 Silverado Duramax high country and took it back two weeks later as it had and still had knocking sound the dealership ***** ******* was good said they would order a new one. Then Covid hit and was told they couldn’t get me one as they weren’t able to get any chips for the build. Now it’s 2024 and I’m still waiting. And told I would have to pay more as the new trucks cost more and they would asses the 2021 for trade in. The dealer said ans wants them to cover the difference as they should. I am to the point I just want a refund in full plus all my interest and I will go somewhere else I believe now I will have to take it a step farther. I have contacted council and will be proceeding. I will wait till April 1st then will file proceedings. I can’t believe that a company that is as big as gm Canada won’t do what they are suppose to do to satisfy a customer. No fault of mine that the truck is fatality and they couldn’t get the exchange here because they couldn’t get chips for the computers. * **** ****** **** ** ****** ********
