Sep30-Oct3. Frank gave quote of 1200/300/tx to total $1695 for sod & driveway seal. I trustingly gave 2 cheques. $1000/$695 D/d Oct1/Oct4. He wrote his name on them ***** * ******** ********** *** ***** ********. When I realised what he was going to use on the driveway I declined. He already had the CKS & refused to change. I told him I would put stop/payment on the CKS. He said he would bring his lawyer. On Oct1 he came with his lawyer, George. After discussions it was decided, no driveway but sod for $1100/tx=$1243. This would be done on Mon,Oct3. When we returned home on Sun,Oct2 the work was done but very substandard. They came on Oct3. Frank tore the CK$695, I asked for the other one he said the bank has it. George counted the cash, Frank left promptly. George said if we have any issues to call him. On Oct 19 we received a bank statement showing a pic of the CK$1000 D/d Oct1 & money taken from savings A/C for insufficient funds in the Ck A/C. We called George. When he saw the evidence he realised that Frank had got $1000 too much. He called Frank twice who said I made him run around & he has to check his bank statement. We called Frank thrice but got no response. George told us to take whatever action available; he's willing to be our witness; he told us he is a paralegal. * *** ********* ****** ****** ** ****** *** **** ********* My wife saw the CK/Book was #15 & duly put stop/payment on 13/14 which was done. I have my suspicions of what occurred. *** ******* ** ****** ********* *** ******** *** ********** *** **** *** *** *** *****

The following report from this consumer is false and misleading. The work has been completed and payment has been made. In the beginning of the job, this person played so many games and made excuses not to pay.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

** ** * ******** ***. As I stated I foolishly gave HANDYMAN 2 cheques totalling $1695. When I realised that the driveway was not what I expected I asked for the cheques . He left saying he'll bring his lawyer. As I stated before his trickery allowed him to have Ck12 for $1000. He tore out Ck13. Ck14 was for $695. We put stop payment on #13 & #14. As the remaining Cheque in the book is #15. He has a blank Ck#13. The new agreement, arranged by his lawyer was for $1100. + tax.= $1243. None of us knew that he cashed Ck12. I paid him $1243. in his lawyer's presense. When I showed his lawyer, George ********, who is really a paralegal, what occurred, he was disgusted. His calls to Handyman to refund the $1000. were rejected. George has offered to be a witness to the whole ******* dealings with Handyman.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: The Home Handyman was paid twice and he is well aware of it. I brought $1243 in cash which was counted by his paralegal on Monday, October 3. As soon as he received the money he left. He already had a cheque for $1000 which he had cashed unknown to any of us. We only realised this on Wednesday, October 19. The Home Handyman was paid $2243; $1000 by cheque and $1243 in cash. The $1243 is the amount that was agreed upon on by himself, his paralegal and myself on Saturday, October 1. I would like the Home Handyman to return the $1000.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because Home Handyman knows he owes me $1000.00 and he is refusing to refund my money.

My witness to this horrible business transaction is the paralegal of the Home Handyman; Mr. George ********** *** *** *** ****. He can verify my complaint.

    Sincerely,
