- Additional Info:In November 2018 BBB investigated Simply Save Home Services' business practices because of an interest in BBB Accreditation. Due to an increase in inquiries surrounding energy conservation and auditing companies, BBB requested some additional information regarding their business registration, products and services, sales practices, and licensing/ certifications.
Business Registration and Office Location:
Simply Save Home Services began operations in April 2016 and is incorporated provincially as 2515701 Ontario Inc. According to their business name registration they are located at 213-250 University Ave Toronto, ON M5H 3E5 which is a shared office space in downtown Toronto owned by IQ Office. The company advised they will be re-locating to a physical location in the future. They currently operate only in Ontario, but are also incorporated in British Columbia for future opportunities.
Sales Practices, Products, and Services:
The company currently operates door to door in Ontario, but does not sell products restricted under Bill 59 which prohibits door to door sales for water heaters, filtration systems and HVAC equipment. Simply Save Home Services provided copies of their contracts, referred to as "Agreement to Lease Program" which appears to include all required terms under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002. The company provides products intended to reduce energy bills. When requesting how many days are provided to consumers between contract signing and installation of the products, the company advised they follow up for installation the following day.
Certifications:
Simply Save Home Services is not currently certified by Natural Resources Canada as energy auditors however; they are currently in the process of completing the necessary courses. According to the company their staff have several years of experience with different energy conservation products and services and have been trained by other companies in the industry which have previously operated door to door.
