I became a member at forged primarily as they offered childcare. I signed a one year contract and within the first 6 months the childcare was no longer offered. I planned to find a new gym that suited my needs better and discussed cancelling my membership and filled out the paper work with the owners wife. I was aware it was before my contract end date, but I was being proactive in simply getting the paperwork done in advance. The contact was never ended on their part, as they "required" proof of address, quite frankly not their business. I was happy to pay the full amount of my contract, I was not looking to get out early, just wanted to be done after the year. As the payments continued to come out I called numerous times in an attempt to resolve the issue. I left multiple messages for one of the 2 owners to call me back, no one ever did. As I continued to call I ended up getting a message via Instagram, very unprofessional in my opinion, where I felt attacked and there was no intent to resolve the problem. I went in and redid the paperwork, I will have made numerous additional payments to an awful gym but I am just so happy to be done. This gym only cares about money, not their reputation as a business or to provide any kind of good service! It's really too bad

I'm sorry but you are trying to spin everything. Now you are even adding in the childcare situation? You never once mentioned that. You came in March 14 to get out of your contract early because you were moving. You were asked to provide proof of new address to fulfill the cancellation which you failed to do, months later we spoke again near your membership fulfillment date and you were told to come in and cancel the membership after July 15. You did not come in and instead angrily called the middle of august hostile and demanding personal numbers of owners on the evening of Friday august 12. You were contacted via messenger for this exact reason as to have some proof of conversation physically in writing to avoid the he said she said. Your claim of being attacked can be proven to be false now by revisiting this written conversation which shows you attacking and calling names when completely unprovoked by simply trying to remind you of our policies. I am very sorry for the misunderstanding and hope that you take the time to read contracts thoroughly in the future to avoid any misunderstandings moving forward. As per usual, bad reviews come one sided. What Richelle failed to mention is that the first time she came in to cancel, her contract was not eligible for another few months so she said she was moving. We require proof of new address cause we have had people use that excuse to get out of memberships. She never provided it because she never moved. Without it, membership can't be cancelled. She phoned a few times requesting a cancellation, but as contract states, cancellation form must be filled out and signed in person. This is mandatory for all members. She did not come in until today. Today she was mad and upset with our policy and lack of understanding of previous cancel. But a policy is a policy. I'm sorry if she doesn't agree or like it but it is what it is. People have a hard time being accountable for their actions or lack of them. This could have all been avoided if she would have taken note of the agreement she signed on the contract and come in on her date of eligibility.
Having a contract and policy and standing by them does not make Forged a bad gym, nor does it make us bad people.
