            I purchased a Gift Certificate from Modern Men Hair Salon on September 7, 2019 for my husband. The salon recently changed ownership, but still do business as Modern Men Salon. My husband and I have tried redeeming the gift certificate of $***** to purchase hair and facial care products they sell at their salon. The business owner told me because the previous owner did not provide them with records of these gift certificates, I cannot use the gift certificate to buy products. They only offered to let me use the Gift Certificate for haircut/barbering services. The gift certificate does not specify any exclusions. I expressed to the owner that neither my husband or I wish to use their haircut/barbering services. Rather, we want to use the gift certificate to buy hair and facial care products. This dispute has been ongoing since August 2024. I was given the excuse that the person who signed the gift certificate, ******* ********, was a barber who worked there as a contractor at the time and therefore they can't honour it. ******* and I spoke about this and she said at the time this gift certificate was purchased, she was an employee of Modern Men Salon and that she was the one who signed most gift certificates for the business at the time. I have attached a picture of the gift certificate, the Modern Men Hair Salon business card ******* ******** gave me to include with the gift certificate at the time I purchased it. I have also attached my credit card statement from September 2019 that shows my purchase from Modern Men Salon on September 7, 2019.
