Good Morning: My name is ************, I live south of Beechy, Sask. My phone number is ************. In fall of 2017 I contracted Cactus Roofing Ltd to complete the roof on our new home. Cactus Roofing supplied all the materials, which was a package of Euroshield shakes (heavy rubber shake/shingle). Briefly--the job was completed in 2017 (though be it poorly completed), and was completely paid for by January of 2018. ************ informed me that once the full payment was received we would receive the warranty for the roof, Cactus was fully paid, but to date we've never received any warranty. The problems with the roof became apparent when the first winds arrived, we could hear flapping and banging on the roof, which was coming from the shakes flapping up and down on the roof. We purchased this roof because these shakes have locking tabs on them that interlock the bottom shake with the shake installed above them, once they are hooked together, locked together, then seven nails hold that shake from moving. With each shake locked to the shake below it, the entire roof becomes one connected product, unaffected by strong winds. That is what we should have had after installation, however, the Cactus Roofing contractor did not hook the shakes together, and then instead of 7 nails per shake, he used 4 nails per shake. Also note that when the shakes on the bottom levels become loose, flapping up and down, they eventually pull their nails out, and blow away. When they blow away, the shakes above them are no longer locked in place, and they in turn become loose, flap and blow away. In short when the lower shingles let loose, everything above them on that portion of the roof is susceptible to blowing away. ************************************************************************************************************************************************* Cactus Roofing have come back twice to repair the roof, but each time were the work they did was very minimal considering the problem with the roof. The second time however they did replace a portion of the roof that had blown away, but that did nothing towards the other 3/4 's of the roof that was still susceptible to coming loose. All we are looking for is to have our roof installed correctly and secured, but Cactus Roofing has ignored our requests to get this done properly, and will not even respond to our calls, texts or emails. It appears they are simply washing their hands of responsibility for our roof. ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* In short, as mentioned, we are just looking to have this job completed properly and have our home protected, which it has not been for nearly 5 years as of now. Yours truly, ************

Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2022/07/29) */ Roof warranty was registered directly with the manufacturer. As for not coming back to repair some stuff. Warranty isn't nor does it cover any travel expenses to or from Beachy. Invoice was sent for the amount of 1180 and we have not recieved payment for that still. We don't cover acts of God which in turn the damages incurred to the roof were due to almost tornado type conditions. We went back twice afterwards and like I said still haven't been paid for that invoice. When we receive payment for that amount of 1180 we can then schedule to go back. As for emails from **** all we have been getting were spam emails in which I think he was hacked in some sort of way so the email address was blocked as spam. When payment is fulfilled we will deal with accordingly however now it will be a pay before we go back to make sure we do get paid.
