    We own a second home in *********************, which we have insured with Umialik Insurance **** along with our primary home in ****************, for many ******** May of 2024, we received a cancellation notice for our Delta property, claiming that we had ignored repeated requests for us to fill out a questionnaire, accompanied by photos of the property. In fact, we had never received a single notice or questionnaire. I contacted the carrier, Western National Insurance Group (which includes Umialik) and spoke with their representative ***** D *****, who sent me the questionnaire. I filled out the form and supplied the requested photos within a few days and on May 30, I received a reply from Ms. ***** stating "Beautiful! Thank you so much, I'll send these along to our underwriters". I assumed that we would be invoiced for the 2024 insurance. We were extremely busy at that time and it slipped my mind. Yesterday, my wife realized that we had not been invoiced and I contacted the local representative, ***** ********* with *****************. She informed me that our insurance had been cancelled months ago because of non response to the request for both the questionnaire and photos, and non response to repeated cancellation notices, which again, we NEVER received, leaving our home unprotected for four months. This is terrible service and leaves us exposed to potential disaster.

    We have conferred with our colleagues regarding Complaint 22411926.  Umialik worked with the insurance agency and the insured to resolve the complaint in October, and we believe no further actions are required.  If you have any questions, please let us know.
