    Does everyone have to pay their water bill 2 months in advance or incur a $4.00 penalty - or is it just me? Why does my bill say Paid in Full and late at the same time. If its late shouldnt last months amount be listed above along with the $4 fee? Why does it say 0 due? Pick one. Late or 0 - not both. Thats incorrect and deceptive. Why is there a 29 day accounting period and not the standard 30?Good afternoon, **************, I am writing in response to your email to the ********************* of Alaska (RCA) dated July 24, 2024. Upon reviewing your account for ******************, I have determined that you are on billing cycle 29, meaning your bill is generated monthly on the 29th. Each bill is due within twenty (20) days of issuance; if payment is not received by that date, a small late fee is assessed. For your reference, I have attached the top portion of your most recent bill issued on June 29th, with a due date of July 19th. As indicated in the payments received line, we received a payment of $100.62 on June 25, 2024, for the month of May, since we bill in arrears. This payment was received six (6) days late, resulting in a late fee of $4.73. Please be advised that the payment for the month of June, due on July 19th, has not yet been received.image I have also reviewed your payments for the past year and noted that each payment has been received after the due date. To address this issue, I suggest creating an online profile on AWWUs website at www.awwu.biz to set up autopay. This will eliminate the need to mail or hand-deliver your payments.      Thank you for the reply *************. Unfortunately, no. The response only generates many more questions. And by the speed and format of the reply it seems it's needed a lot.

     

    Just to start with, why does AWWU use a 29 day billing period when the guidelines by the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles state 30 days as indicated by the attached Internet screen capture? 29 days sounds kind of arbitrary.

     

    As well, if billing occurs in arrears, it seems a fore drawn conclusion that no one can ever be on time in 29 days. Why don't you just increase everyone's bill by $4.00 a month instead of defending an arcane, nefarious penalty system that no member can avoid? It makes you look unreputable.

    These questions are rhetorical *************. I have zero desire to hear your reply. I dont want to your answers because I dont have the stomach for it or high enough hip waders.

    What I am interested in ************* is pointing out your obvious disregard and arrogance to someone who has paid their water bill for decades, without fail and in good faith for decades. My reward from you is a monthly, repeated late fee. Your business interactions are poor and unacceptable.

    I will try and pay monthly online at the link you provided. If that is not successful I will consider other avenues of resolution.

    Your response and business behaviors are offensive.
