I have is list of problems with this business. I am on call with them and currently working another job. I would like to know how you guys go about making businesses better? Do you guys go to the businesses yourself or do you just call and write letters? This place needs help. They are out of regulations on a bunch of Policy's that the place should be shut down. Or investigated on. They never close the restaurants to deep clean. Blood at one point was all over the restaurant from guest fighting. They never follow their own Employee Handbook and I feel if it keeps going my husband and I may **** He is working with them as well. I can soon send pictures of what the place is looking like and how they don't fix things up as they should per OSHA and other regulations. Water pipes breaking within the building they just cover up and let the water leak all over the restaurant. They have multiple ovens and Kitchen equipment falling apart and not addressing the is**** The fire hazards are insane. And because it is locally owned and operated I feel that they dig for favors from other companies to pass their inspections and/or they say they will fix them and they don't ever fix them following regulations. They allow the drills to go off without properly running fire drills. I assure you, anyone from your office if you walk in to ask questions everyone is going to lie about how well the business is operating. We have managers that work there allow people to drink on the job every day. They let wires hang all over the place letting other equipment to fall apart as well as not addressing the issues with the equipment's. They don't cut checks properly. They are cutting off a day from my Husbands paycheck and just left it alone without checking with staff, they will be missing a day on their checks. They have no HR department for people to go to one regulations and policy procedures.

I have discussed this complaint with the husband of ******* who works for us as a cook.  He is unaware of this complaint and does not know why it was sent.   We have been in business over 40 years, and we are very proud of our operation and care greatly for our customers and our employees.  We have employees who have been with us for over 35 years. We do close our restaurants to deep clean- we just closed our Downstairs Landing Restaurant the week after Mother's Day which is the norm every year.  We have two of our employees including our Kitchen manager clean the upstairs ********'s Pub just this last month.  I am not sure what she is referring to as not following our employee handbook but is a question I will address directly with her.  I am not aware of any leaking pipes that have just been covered over and not repaired.  We would not let water pipes leak all over our restaurant.  We do have at times where a drain is overflowing due to cooks and waitresses overflowing sinks; but these are taken care oof immediately.  We have a very good maintenance supervisor who has been with us over 20 years.  Whenever we are in need of replacing any equipment such as an oven as she stated we do so.  We just replace the grill in the Landing Restaurant last week.  If we have any employees drinking on the job they are suspended or terminated.  It is against our policy to do so, and we do not tolerate it.  I am not aware of any hanging wires anyway in our facility and if there were we would have them repaired immediately.  Yes, we did pay a day short to be able to get the paychecks to our employees on pay day September 5th due to the Holiday weekend and or we had the choice to pay a day late; we choice the first.   Every employee knows if this runs them short, they can get a draw on their next paycheck which she and her husband have done in the past.  The 31st of August will be on their next check and any overtime they may have accrued in that week will be paid.  We do have an HR department to talk to.  Both my office manager and I are here with an open-door policy at any time to address their concerns. We just finished an inspection of our hotel and our restaurants with AAA; passed and retained our 3 Diamond rating.   I felt when ******* left our employment for another job that she left under good standing with us and was willing to work at any time on her days off there for us if we needed help.  I would really like to speak with ******* directly to see what has prompted this anger toward our company.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    Sincerely,

    ***************************

What prompted this was myself having enough of what my husband is allowed and not allowed to do within the business.

NOTE: I can talk more about this, but I feel the issues will not be solved though me. I did leave on good standing. This is to help Better the Business. I appreciate the communication on all that has been done to The Landing Hotel.

********** off, I think are indeed time off. But my husband has never been allowed anytime off. In the handbook it doesn't state that they must work 365 days out of the year minus the normal two days off a week. Some of what it says under Vacation Pay is:

Employees are encouraged to take time off each year. Vacation cannot be carried over from one year to the next and is automatically paid on the pay date following your anniversary.

I can have him address that when needed.

I do hope we can communicate more if you would like me too about this, I am going to leave my email address and phone number for you to use at your leisure if this letter is not feasible. I do hope this helps. I am all about helping.

     Thanks,
