    Monarch Jewelers sold me $12,000 worth of jewelry and when I came home to have it appraised for insurance purposes it was lower and the tanzanite stone was measured at almost a full carat less then what was listed. I had 14 days to return it and when I tried they would not give me a return authorization letter. I moved on to the bank to dispute the charge. The bank only asked Monarch for information and never spoke to me. Monarch lied about the size of the stone according to my certified appraisal. I have started to pay for the jewelry but I am still fighting it. It is one thing to charge more for a piece but another to lie about the size. A carat less is a BIG DEAL!!! I want to return the jewelry or pay the price of the smaller stone.

    The appraisal submitted by the customer did not adhere to our written appraisal policy stated on the back of the customers receipt.  Customer initialed the back of the receipt indicating that she had read and reviewed the policy.  The policy states that only appraisals from NAJA or AGTA will be considered.  This is due to the subjective nature of third party appraisals.  The Customer's appraisal did not have a stated dollar value but an opinion of over payment.  In order to accurately measure the weight of a gemstone, the stone will either need to be removed from its setting or measurements taken.  Each cut of a gemstone has different measurements needed to calculate an approximate weight and will give an approximate weight.  The Customer's appraisal does not indicate how the stone was measured to establish the validity of discrepancy. A difference of more than 30% valuation is needed to qualify for a partial refund or partial credit. For these reasons we could not satisfy the customer's request.

    Do not shop at this store. My husband bought me a very expensive piece of jewelry here that the clerk convinced him I loved. I did not love it. In fact I insisted she take it off of me and left the store. My husband continued his purchase of a watch and she convinced him to buy this piece for me. Out of love for me he did. Within an hour we tried to return the purchase and they would not. It's one tale after another with these crooks.

    This business sales and return policies needs investigating. They are high pressure, not fortcoming with purchasing terms and returns. They lure you in by saying they are giving you an amazing discount and a few freebies. They mislead you to purchase under the pretense of no interest for 12 or 24 months, while taking your personal information to open up a ***** Fargo Jewelry account. They don't ask you if you want to apply for one, they withhold info until you receive a statement in the mail. This company can't be trusted and customer support is unsatisfactory. I hope others that have had this experience in Kacatken, AK or one of their other stores to report this activity.

    This business sells jewelry at expensive prices and they don't stand by their products. I purchased $4,000 of their Orocal and after wearing the pieces twice, the Orocal has turned Grey. They keep saying all sales are final and offer no assistance or help.

    Awful customer service. While in a Carnival Cruise, we were guided by a "Shopping Expert" that recommends cruisers to this Jewelry store. The shopping expert in carnival cruise was very nice and friendly and convinced us to trust him in all the locations HE RECOMMENDS in the ports are trustworthy and takes great care of the carnival cruise passengers. But only the **** HE RECOMMENDS, everywhere else outside of his list will s**** people over. This is not true. The owner of Monarch Jewels sold us 4 pieces of Jewelry under a said -to- be "loan" for $20,000. They did not explain it was a credit card you will be signing up for. They give you a stapled paper with your receipt that states that after the fact. Secondly, we wanted to return one of the jewelry pieces and after supposedly forming some type of relationship with the owner of this business, he abruptly said there are no returns especially for a piece that was altered in color. No problem, to alleviate such great debt I asked to return all other 3 pieces since the other 3 were not altered and unworn. The owner did not want to negotiate that either since it was written in paper of NO RETURNS. This is absolutely ridiculous to convince cruisers to trust a shopping expert that sends you to a store that does not explain none of their policies before aggressively convincing you to buy from them. They take BIG PRIDE in saying they are a small business owner that like to work with the customers, and this is FALSE, the owner has blocked our numbers after trying to negotiate with them in 1 call, they want us to email a customer service email that are absolutely relentless. They have taken advantage of a lot of cruisers on board and they are still doing this dirty business.

    My wife and I made a purchase from their ****** store. Less than an hour later, I tried to return some of the products, only to be told that they couldn't approve returns in store. Instead, I was given a "customer service" email address and reassured that the return would not be a problem. Emailing them showed this to be a lie. They will not allow me to return anything because all sales are final. My wife and I made a mistake and didn't realize it in time. Instead of demonstrating basic human decency by accepting the return, they are perfectly happy to financially burden my family of six. They don't care about their customers. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
