We keep receiving a bill for services that were never requested or agreed to. Read other complaints where they say it was in our closing paperwork. Went through my paperwork multiple times and it states that if I want to keep their services I need to contact them. I never contacted Waynes or set up an account for services but I did receive a bill for $348. This seems like a very dishonest way to do business.

    Dear ********************,

On behalf of Waynes, thank you and the BBB for this forum to amicably resolve consumer/customer complaints. We have researched this matter and report as follows:

You closed on your new home from **** Homes in August, 2021. Waynes, or ******** Control Company that performs a preconstruction termite treatment, is required by the ********* ***** of *********** to provide the following services for one year following closing at no-charge:

For each property under contract, charter holders must conduct an annual inspection of the property and document the date of inspection. If termite activity is discovered inconsistent with the previous graph, the charter holder must make application of an appropriate pesticide and create a new graph of the property showing the new termite activity. Copies of records for annual inspections and treatments shall be made available within 48 hours of request by the contracting party.

We made several attempts to connect with you to explain the warranty and renewal terms but were unable to connect. In order to continue your Termite Warranty, a renewal fee is charged for the next year of coverage, similar to paying car insurance. Because we attempted several times to make contact with you to see if you wanted to renew your warranty and never received a response, we did not want to cancel your $1,000,000 Damage/Repair Warranty without your permission.

However, nine months after the renewal date had passed and we still had not been able to make contact with you, we canceled the Warranty. I apologize for the confusion and you have no open balances with Waynes.

Should you require further information or assistance in resolving this matter, please let me know. Again, thank you for your assistance.

I canceled my service with Waynes and I was unaware that they came out and performed termite control. I never received a bill or notification until my husband received a call from collections and I called Waynes and then they sent a bill out for 375 dollars that I dont feel like we owe. We was unaware they came out and did termite control and they never got our permission to charge our card. I feel like we do not owe this money and it needs to be removed from collections. They also never came out and got there termite stakes after I cancelled my service and I dont want this situation to happen again.

First, I apologize for the delayed response. ***************** is no longer with the company and any further BBB communication needs to come to ********************* at ****************************************************

Second, we do not have any records of homeowner calling to cancel their **************** However, their Agreement has been canceled and we do not show that we made any charges to the customers credit card in our system. If in fact we did and our system did not properly record the transaction, please provide proof for a full refund.

    Thank you,

We closed on our new home Feb 2022 and the builder (***********************) paid for my first year of termite treatment thru Waynes. As part of the closing process, we were offered to continue the service, and we declined. Beginning in February 2023, I began receiving multiple pieces of mail from Waynes. I threw them away assuming it was sales related. However, yesterday my wife opened a letter, and there was an invoice inside stating I owe this company $348.00 for a service and it's 60 days past due!! Again, we did not request or signup for services with this company. I have copies of our closing docs that show a blank signature block on the service contract page; proof that we never signed up for their service. Not only that, we have not seen any employee from Waynes come to our house and perform any service. We have cameras that alert us when someone is near our house. My wife and I are retired and at home all of the time. This a scam that puts undue stress in our lives by receiving bills for services not rendered or signed up for. I want to discontinue contact with this company and stop receiving the fictitious bills. Customer#************, invoice# ************.

    Dear ****************,

On behalf of Waynes, thank you and the BBB for this forum to amicably resolve consumer/customer complaints. We have researched this matter and apologize for your frustration.

Although we do have several documented times of attempted communication with you and even a response from your wife that she needed to verify a convenient time with you for ** to call back, we did not record a time where you declined to continue your $1,000,000 Damage/Repair Warranty with Waynes, and for that, I apologize.

We have corrected your account and you do not have any outstanding balances with Waynes and will no longer receive any communication from us.

Should you require further information or assistance in resolving this matter, please let me know.

Again, thank you for your assistance.

Ive received an invoice by mail stating that I owe this company $348.00 for a service I did not request, and Im unaware of its existence. I have not asked a pest control service, nor my wife. We have not seen ***** come to our house and do anything. We have cameras that alert us when someone is near our house. My wife and I are dual militaries, and we are ever at home. This a scam that puts stress in our lives with a situation like that. Receiving bills for services not rendered or signed up for. I Want to discontinue contact from the company, and the bills sent. It states no payment history. I Did not do business with this company. Customer#************, invoice# ************.

Hi there.  This account has been canceled with a $0 balance.  Our records indicate that we tried to contact the customer 15 times following closing to explain the termite warranty provided by us through the their builder (*********************** Homes) and the annual renewal inspection.

Again, the account has been adjusted to $0 balance and the agreement has been canceled.  Thank you.

Waynes continues to post service reports to my front door stating that lawn services were performed in an attempt to bill my property in the future. No such services were requested or contracted by me, the property owner, for any past, current, or future date. I have zero business with Waynes and/or ************************* operating under the name of Waynes. Furthermore, the report/bill is falsified as no service was performed on the most recent date in question, November 11. I and three other family members were home the entirety of the day and did not observe any Waynes employee performing work on my property. If this is some type of thoughtless marketing ploy, it is a disgusting practice. Does Waynes really expect a potential customer to contact them for service after a bill/service report is intentionally falsified and posted to their front door? Absolutely disgraceful behavior.

Our ************** Leader spoke with ****************** on this matter. It appears that we performed service on his lawn by accident.  This issue has been resolved and we apologize for the error.

I contracted with HomeShield Pest Control two years ago for quarterly pest prevention service for $*** per visit, which unfortunately was acquired by Waynes. As observed in other reviews on BBB, this is an extremely dishonest company. My house was last serviced in late April 2022. A technician showed up to my house on June 8, 2022, UNNOTICED when I was not home (captured by my video door bell). Two days later my card was charged for $***** for the alleged "enviropest" service performed that day. I did not request such service and it apparently was not part of my quarterly prevention service. When I called the company and asked for a refund, the representative basically said that she could not do anything about it and will have a supervisor call me. Of course that did not happen and I have to count on BBB to help me get my money back. Furthermore, ever since Waynes took over, I would get a message every other, sometimes even every month, in the evening about a visit scheduled for the next morning, even though my quarterly service was not yet due. Coincidentally, it always took place after their office was closed so no one would answer the phone. After a few calls over several months, I was told that I signed up for bi-monthly service, which was not true at all (I still have the contract with HomeShield that clearly indicated quarterly service). It is scary how this company does not abide by the contract and is trying to steal my money at every chance by performing service that I did not order.

Hello.  As stated in Ms *****'s complaint, her account was acquired through the HomeShield Pest Control merger.  She is receiving the same quarterly service as she received prior to the acquisition.  There may be some confusion as the branding of our quarterly pest control service is called "Enviropest".  Her price has been reduced from $*****0/quarter (per visit) back to $*** and her account credited accordingly.  Please let us know if there is anything else required on our end.  Thank you.

We canceled our pest, yard, services with Wayne's Pest control in August 2021. We called several times to complain about: earwigs, never having a slip of services left, rescheduling, no shows, weeds in front and back, 1/2 of our back yard being brown, etc. We are now receiving calls and email to "resolve our contract". We never had anyone come out for the yearly inspection of termites or to bait the pods. I will not pay for a year contract due to incompetence and inconvenience. Any monies after August 2021 will not be paid and I would like to cease all contact. Especially the "yard aeration" sales people.

The outstanding balance is being credited today and all future services canceled. We trust this is a satisfactory resolution to this issue. Thank you.

We have not seen Wayne's come too our house and do anything. We have cameras that alert us when someone is near our house. My wife recently talk to a worker and told them to call us and talk to my husband. But we got a invoice again for $348 and the worker never done anything. We have a bill of $1004 for work they never done and I have called them twice and told them to quit coming to my house because we have orkin. These workers and the lady in Birmingham Alabama office are terrible. Please help resolve this matter...
