On ****** I wrote Jeff Ward a check for $15,000 to build a barn. He cashed the check on ****** To date, he has completed next to zero work! The only thing he's done is site prep and set six posts. He has since turned his phone off and I can't get in touch with him. Please don't give this man any money. He says all the right things, but does none of what he says. After reading all of the other BBB complaints (after I gave him money) I see that this isn't his first time attempting to rip people off! I also asked some people who live in the same city (after the fact) and the first words that come out of their mouth- "he's nothing but a crook", "don't give him any money", etc.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 6, 2022/09/23) */ **** **** wrote me a refund check and I deposited it on September *** One September ** I noticed that the check had been returned for non-sufficient funds. As of today, September *** the check is still on hold and I have no money. A representative from my bank told me last night that preliminary paperwork shows that the funds still might not be available and it will be September ** before the check is set to clear. If it doesn't clear, they will not send it back through again. I want to be clear that I have not been made whole as of today as Mr. Ward has not given me a check that has cleared the bank. Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/10/04) */ Customer was refunded two weeks ago. Consumer Response Check has cleared.

We contracted Jeff Ward Construction to build a pole barn at our home. We handled the slab and prep work and paid an initial $14,000 deposit (March 2021). It took 7 months to start work, after telling us it would be 6-8 weeks. He continued to make excuses about why he wasn't doing work. In October, his crew showed up and worked for 2 full days and we thought we were making progress. After the walls were framed (but still not complete), we paid a second payment of $15,000 (Oct 2021). Since that time, his crew has worked 2 half days (Dec and Jan) and one additional full day (July 2022) but that was additional work on the walls. He stated on 4 separate occasions that the trusses for the roof were in his yard and waiting. The one time I went to his business in June, he sent me a picture of trusses on a trailer and said they were on the way from ******** 2 months later and we still have no proof that the trusses were delivered or were even ours. Here we are in mid-August 2022 and have 4 walls of studd lumber that have been in the rain and elements for 10 months, no roof, and no signs of any work. He has bot responded to texts or phone calls in the last 2 week. It's been 17 months, there is no reason or excuse to not have a building complete hat was supposed to take 2 weeks once started.

On ********* my husband and I paid Jeff Ward a deposit in the form of a chaser's check $13,752.00. The total barn is $34,110. Since we paid him the only work he has done is come out and dig 12 holes and dump one bag of concrete in each hole. He keeps teeling us I will be there one day this week and he never comes. After we paid him this deposit it came to light that he has done this to several people and never completes the work or even starts the job************************************************************************************. We have no materials or anything at our job sight. We have contacted an attorney also. Please help me make sure he does not do this to anyone else. At this point we do not want him on our property or doing any work for us.

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/05/10) */ Consumer ordered a building and was told it takes weeks to come in. She became inpatient with waiting for the building even though she knew it would take several weeks to be delivered. The building has since come in. But she has informed me they hired a lawyer and not to come back to her property. The refund will be for the deposit that she paid for. 13.250.00 will be refunded the remainder is for work completed before she stopped us. Prepping the site etc.
