            We received several phone calls in 9/20 and 9/21/24. I answered and asked person not to call my number again. He immediately told me that me and my husband was listed as references on the rental application. I told him no way because we don’t do that. He said yes they talk to us. He proceeded to tell me he has our birthdays, social security numbers and address. Then said birthday and address. I stopped him quickly and said I don’t care what you have we don’t provide references. He said he did a credit check on us to get our info. Then I received a text message with a copy of someone application which included their name and social security numbers, address and phone numbers. And the balance on the account. My name was no where on this application. One of the two people on the app had the same last name as mine. … This seems like it is illegal to send out other people social security numbers and harassing them because they have the same last name. We were not listed as references and I don’t understand why this company did a credit check and got our SS numbers, etc. I know for a fact that another one of my relatives were contacted. I thought this was a scam. Knowing that these companies are doing this and you have no dealings with them and how careless they are with people personal info. Very upsetting. Thanks
