I got a call from an "Ashley" in Newark, Ohio who told me that fiber optic was available in my area and I needed to schedule an appointment for an upgrade. Sure! No problem. He was to be over at my home between 9-11am today. Never showed, no phone call. Called back and spoke to a rep who then handed me off to Ashley again. Ashley was very subdued this time (when we first spoke, she was all loud and telling me about how her daughter had started menstruating - really) and after looking for my work order, told me I needed to talk to Technical Support and dropped me back in the main phone tree. Unbelievable. I eventually went online and did a chat with a techie who told me fiber optic was NOT available in my area and he saw no order for my home. So Ashley lied to me. This techie went ahead and said I could have an upgrade in speed and scheduled a time for a service person to come out - I got a confirmation number at least. Let's see if he shows up. It's enough to make me reconsider Spectrum.Kinetic Response

Not only is the internet absolute garbage the customer service is even worse. Called to disconnect service back in October or November and they magically didn’t have any record of it. Finally got my service disconnected in December and had to keep calling for a return label for the equipment. The level of incompetence is outmatched. 10/10 do not recommend this company or their services to anyone.Kinetic Response

Absolute worst internet service you can get. Bottom of the barrel provider. You are better off with no wifi rather than wasting hard earned money on this trash.Kinetic Response

Kinetic did not honor the agreement made with their sales agent! I called in early August 2024 to have service transferred to my name for a house I was purchasing, and I requested the 300Mbps plan that was advertised online as being $39.99/mo for one year plus a $200 prepaid Mastercard, and noted that I did not need to rent their router as I had my own. The sales agent I spoke to then told me I might as well go with the 1 Gig plan and that I should get their router as service would not work without it and it would be the same pricing regardless. I told her that I did not want the 1 Gig plan as the price would drastically increase after 3 months, but she responded that she had a special call-in promotion to guarantee the $39.99/mo for a year at 1 Gig speeds. Given those terms, I accepted the offer and began service, receiving an email confirmation of the order that contained no mention of the expiration date of the promotion. 3 months later my bill increased to $96.88... I called customer support and was told that the sales agent gave me incorrect info and that if I wanted to stay at the $39.99 price point I would have to stick to the 300Mbps plan and return their router. Thankfully they agreed to provide a credit for the difference of the unexpected price increase, but they were unwilling to honor the word of their sales agent - which it unfortunately seems is a common issue from reading through other reviews... The internet sucks, like I'm not joking its horrible. These people do not care about the customer and we have been dealing with steadily declining internet for months. They put off fixing the issue and they do not keep on top of the issues. They say its fixed but its not. They are scamming people and not doing there job properly. Just because you are the only provider in an area doesn't mean you skip on your responsibilities. Its pathetic and needs to be resolved.Kinetic Response

Customer Service is a complete joke. I have been given the complete run-around for several weeks now, between their AI service bot and the two humans who I actually spoke with there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what they are doing. And the communication between their employees seems to be null. I even had to play a voicemail that had been left for me by one of their employees for the last customer service provider I spoke with proving we had an open ticket that she said didn't exist. When I asked for her name she hung up on me. We've missed work having to wait for their tech's to arrive and then they've been no-shows. This company is literally costing us money at this point. There service platform/app is all automated and no humans actually help you. Do yourself a favor and avoid this internet company at all costs.Kinetic Response

Terrible company. Because their app won't take payments after 8pm, one time I had to do a phone payment and they charged the wrong account and refused to correct the error. I also just had an outage and was told they would credit me on the bill. Now being told I have to wait until NEXT bill cause it generated already. Company also never has supervisors on hand to take escalations, they don't call you back when they say they will. This is an abysmal companyKinetic Response

In August of 2023, a salesman came to my home and offered 2 options to sign up with Windstream. $39.99/mo for 12 months with a $200 gift card, or $39.99/mo for 24 months, no gift card. We chose the 24 month plan due to his recommendation of it being a better deal. After 12 months, our bill went to $69.99/month. When contacting Windstream, they let me know that offer was not applied and there was nothing they could do to honor what I was promised. They did offer $10/mo off for 12 months for my inconvenience.. I let them know this was unacceptable due to being guaranteed something different. It seems very unethical to sell a customer one product, then claim it was never applied, so it's too bad. I have 2 accounts with them. I am currently searching for offers from other companies in order to cut ties with a company who has no interest in keeping their word.Kinetic Response

This service is TERRIBLE. I've been dealing with going on a month. Came out 5 times now saying not internet said my equipment. Whe bout $800 on new equipment and guess what same thing. They came out Monday around 3pm. I was told they would be back around 9am next morning with pole guy, tech and area supervisor. They were no show allday didnt even get courtesy call. I called next morning with no help to get someone out. I was finally told on 2 days later they have to reschedule to Dec 3rd. Cant wait 2 weeks cause I work from home. Do not believe my employer is not going to go for that... im not losing my job over terrible serviceKinetic Response
