I signed an agreement w Regeny in Jan of 2023. The agreement was with the firm so they could help me resolve my credit debt. They said that as I paid them and sent them money 2x/mo and as I sent them the requests from my creditors they would begin to settle. Apparently they assigned their attorneys to my case. As time went by and as my payments to them accumulated they would be able to continue negotiating with my creditors. I was made to believe that as soon as we agreed and I began my payments, they would take part of my payments for their fees and the rest would go towards the trust build up of money to be paid to my creditors as Regency negotiated with them. What I agreed on was for them to begin this immediately. Instead, last month they informed me that ALL of my original payments, $400 2×/mo = $800.00 per month were to 100% go to Regency for their eventual services. Meaning I strictly pay them all 100% of my money in preparation for what they MIGHT do for me in the future. They informed me that all of my monthly payments, all the way up to November of this year! Are ONLY used for their fees - NOT towards ANY beginning of any negotiation with any of my creditors. So far, I have paid over $8000 to Regency to be told that no negotiation will be made until I pay them 100% of their own company fees. I never agreed to any of this. Meanwhile my credit is plummeting to 578. All of this time I could have been using this money to pay my creditors with my credit maintaining an acceptable score. They are not guaranteeing their services at all! I was led to believe they would help immediately. I would have never agreed to pay wages before getting aide myself. I have a family. I need to provide. This makes it harder, instead of easier for me repaying my debit. They have broken their agreement. I would tell anyone who enters any term of agreement with Regency to never do so. The first 18 months pay their wages NOT your debit. They only work for you once they get paid!

In November of signed up for a debt negotiation with Regency Legal Group. I was told the following, using their own words - Step 1 they will CREATE A FINANCIAL SAVINGS PLAN THAT IS AFFORDABLE. Step 2 ONCE THAT IS IN PLACE WE WILL, ON YOUR BEHALF, START NEGOTIATIONS....Step 3 WHEN AGREEMENT IS REACHED, CREDITORS WILL BE PAID. It was wonderful, or so I thought. When no negotiation was made by April or May, I called and was told "You were behind on your payments (not true as they are on Auto Pay)." I think it was the next monthly call they lied to me (again) and said they had a creditor right now on another line. I think I may have waited a month before I called the lawyer assigned. He answered the phone and said, "That's not right. I'll take care of it". Called him again, same response. Called third time and was told " Looking at the monthly report, I see nothing wrong". I TOLD HIM THEY STILL HAD NOT CONTACTED MY CREDITORS. This was about October and they did contact the lowest creditor and started paying I think $20 a month. Meanwhile the creditors are still charging interest and my debt is growing. I will have to pay much more when they finally get around to it. I got one bill in July which charged $100 interest.. If remaining creditors are doing same, I have $400 A month more than I should owe them. I want Regency to contact my creditors, negotiate with them at the original debt owed, and start paying them. In the meantime, I hope to save others from same fate.

Last year, I suffered from major health concerns resulting in a lot of medical debt that I was worried I could not handle on my own. A friend told me about this company, and told me to reach out. I did, and it was all unicorns and rainbows, false promises of restoring credit, and false information used as a scare tactic to get me to sign up which included telling me the only way to repair my credit otherwise was by declaring bankruptcy. Due to this fact, I signed, was rushed through and not explained of the terms of the contract I was signing. I was being read to from a script, not ensuring I understood, and was rushed to initial here here and here. After doing so, I made two and a half monthly payments of $323.96 to be kept in an escrow account to settle my debts. I signed into the account to see how much I had accrued and was met with a negative balance. I reached out and asked for explanation as none of my debts had been paid. They explained that I am paying monthly fees, I explained I was not aware of this and that I wish to cancel the program, and did so. Following this, I disputed the charges with my bank as the services I paid for were not delivered and according to the CFPB and AG's office, this is not legal. I subsequently began communications once again with Regency Legal Group as well as the escrow accounts corporate team. I explained the above issue with Regency in an attempt to get a refund, was blamed for the issue and called a liar on the phone by a customer service supervisor who continued to over and over repeat the same information, not answer any questions, and speak over me. I was offered a partial refund, but will not accept throwing away $300 or more of my hard earned money for services I never received. Upon explaining this, I was screamed at on the phone, and ended the confrontation by explaining that is incredibly offensive and disrespectful, and I will seek outside assistance. I do not wish to communicate with them, unless in writing.

I went into this debt resolution a bit skeptical, but they made it sound like I could have my debts paid with a year. I paid them almost $800 over two months, and they had not even contacted my creditors and kept telling me I needed to talk to my assigned attorney, who never returned my calls. The calls kept coming in from my creditors, my credit continued to decline, and my creditors never heard from Regency. My choice was continue to dump $400 a month into this program and not know where it was going or request it stop and start repairing my now destroyed credit. My fear is that they were taking my money and doing nothing, and I would never see it again, which is what happened. When I cancelled via email, they agreed to cancel, then refunded me $85.09 instead of the almost $800 I had sent , asked in the email that I sign some documents, which I never did, then made up a story that read, “ Per our conversation on 6/30/22,” I agreed to a refund of $85.09 after cancelling my services. I never agreed to that as there was no such conversation. I have never spoken to anyone. That’s my point in wanting to cancel the service. How do I even know what was happening with my funds if no one was doing anything with money I had given over to them as my credit was ruining? $800 may not be a lot to them, but I could’ve paid off two of my accounts with that already , and they did nothing but let my credit go further in decline. Now, they are keeping the money I sent when they didn’t live up to any part of the contract ? My creditors never even heard from them during that time? I reached out and never heard from their attorney over two months. I would expect a refund minus the time the paralegal spent coming to my house.
